As far as my opinion of him asked in your title, based on what I've learned about the lad, I think it was a good teacher and spiritual leader.

I'm curious on why people don't believe in Jesus?

"Believe in" in what respect?

I mean, I'm open to the idea that there was a real historical figure at the core of the Gospel Jesus who a bunch of myth has been glommed onto.

If you mean Jesus as presented in the Gospels... the story comes across as implausible to the point of being ridiculous.

It also doesn't help that if you look at the dates the Gospels were written, Jesus becomes more and more fantastic the later the book was written.

Close to Jesus's death, the authors make excuses for why Jesus's miracles wouldn't have been widely known... but then you get to John and suddenly he's feeding multitudes magically out in the open and we have the dead popping up out of the ground, wandering into Jerusalem in great numbers, and talking with people.

On the one hand, this is good for the claim that Jesus was real because it suggests there was a historical truth that the early authors expected to be judged against, but it's also bad because true stories don't snowball this way.

I believe Jesus Christ is the promised Messiah, the only Savior and hope for humanity.

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time…
2 Timothy 2:3-6

Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Acts 4:12

I'm atheist and believe that Jesus existed, but not as described in the bible. A few years ago i did a thread ony view, it may interest you.

My view on Jesus.

Or it may not...

Nice. You highlight a point that makes the OP a bit ambiguous; do you mean the historical person Jesus of Nazareth, or the same who was actually Word made Flesh.

Some people think that even the human Jesus did not exist, which IMHO, is not defensible.

My point was that i do believe Jesus existed and i gave my opinion relevant to the title of the thread.

My view is clearly laid out in my link which makes sense to me after studying Roman history of the period and given that history, is defenseble

I'm curious on why people don't believe in Jesus?

Believe in what? That he is the divine authority?
Because I have met others like him and understand how easy it is for people to get swept up into accepting the divine authority of a religious leader.

I've heard people telling of miracles happening of them because of their belief in these individuals. Not that they are lying about the events but it is recounted in such a way that it supports their belief in this individual's divine nature.

So who is Jesus to believe in? He never wrote anything down. You believe in a narrative created by other folks who tend to express themselves in a manner which supports what they believe is truth. It is human nature to create a divine reality for people they seek to believe in.

There is a lack of good evidence that the Jesus as described in the Bible existed. It is that simple.
I see good and I see evil everywhere but I want to believe in love and for me that's believing in Jesus. We all die but they say the devil is the master manipulator, so where do people get lieing and killing instincts from I say there's a god of evil the devil and love comes from Jesus you want proof? Well look at your surroundings and ask yourself how hate and love began where did the exsistance of love hate and lies come from. Or we were just born to hate and judge because anyone who doesn't believe in Jesus hates or judges
