If you believe in a god.. Is it because of
-faith
or
-evidence
or
-only personal evidence

But you can explain your own choice differently.
All votes are anonymous.

-Evidence I mean physical, testable evidence. Evidence you can present to someone.
-personal evidence that only you experienced. Hence the "personal evidence" choice.
I don't mean the sky is beautiful because god created it.
Be reasonable and honest.

There is no third choice in this poll. But you can explain your own choice differently.

By evidence I mean physical, testable evidence. I don't mean the sky is beautiful because god created it.
Be reasonable and honest.

Not scientific evidence. But evidence in as much as I have experienced them.

Why can I only mark one?
It's all three.

Before we could scan the brain of someone having a headache or found that roses have fragrance, or felt love people accepted they were real because of a shared experience.

My evidence are a set of experiences that I can share with others who have had the same experiences just like I can share that I have a headache or that a rose smells sweet or the experience of love with someone who has had those experiences as well.

I would say it started with faith by simply believing what I was taught. Later on I have heard other people's experiences, looked into apologetics and had personal experience of my own.

I have had a moment though once when cleaning the windows at night that I thought of God and God's existence and had a strange feeling. Perhaps a sense of distance, perhaps a questioning of where God was. I'm not sure why I was thinking these things.

All I've got is experiences, as you call it here, "personal evidence." Whatever 'faith' may be, it is based on experience, even if that experience is only reading or hearing the stories of others' experiences...

I initially voted for evidence but then after I read this I changed my vote to faith, since there is no testable evidence of God's existence. Nor do I have any personal evidence, only the evidence that is provided by God, which is the Messengers of God.

To add to what I said before, I believe the Messengers of God are the best evidence of God's existence, but I chose faith because I have to have faith that the Messengers were sent by God, since that can never be proven.

For me it is both faith and personal experience.

The thing with this sort of OP is that it leads often to questions that could be negative, since comments like "it is only in your head" or " God is not real, you can not prove it with science" are not good comments.

I chose faith over personal evidence, because for me its about my interpretation of my "personal evidence"

Like you, I have faith that my personal experiences are real. In my case it’s impossible to say which came first anyway, faith in a loving God, or the evidence of that God working in my life and in my heart. I once had no faith, and was lost in darkness. Now when I feel lost, I know from experience that if I turn towards the light, I will be guided out of darkness.

Dear We Never Know,

I’d say that my faith is based on personal experiences. I would not use the term “evidence” in this context because, while the things I experience do occur, my faith is based on my interpretation of [the meaning of] those things that occur.

My faith, based on interpretation of personal experiences, is then strengthened by the results of putting my understandings into practice. They work; therefor they cannot be entirely false.

Humbly,
Hermit

As a skeptic in the Western tradition, I have to answer blind faith, because there is no objective, universal, strong rational truth/proof/evidence possible for all of the whole/everything/reality/the world/the universe. We have been testing that for over 2500 years now and the result is in the books.
The test is simple once you get this: That evidence matters is without evidence.
