as a homosexual, did you suffer from homophobic remarks made by Christians?

Many do since they don't want to go through all the mess with marriage-it's expensive. Christian straights (and gay people etc) who opt for civil unions tend to say god loves them and blessings their marriage even without a formal ceremony since marriage technically is a legal contract between a couple whether they are christian, gay, or not it's finally considered a marriage under law just not by the church.

In some societies marriages doesn't involve the law or the church but in this society that's how marriages work.

Same gender love is okay as a friend, not as a partner.

Why? How is it different?

For example, what is the difference between two men's commitment and a man and a woman's commitment? (taking marriage out)

I'm trying to look pass what's between their legs. Is there another reason?

But that's cultural. Taboo and cultural differences doesn't make it immoral. Likewise, people used to get stoned for loving someone with the same genitals so they live a lie because people are more concerned for their sex and not their faith.

Maybe you're looking too much in the externals?

Nobody said that a gay relationship is the worst thing ever.

God created marriage to be between a man and a woman, not two men or two women.

In the US it's changing. We just can't get married under Catholic (and similar sacramental churches). It depends heavily which protestants would marry a gay or lesbian couple. Many times churches shun those they find out they are gay. So, it is all about the sex.

I don't agree with shunning gay people. Someone living together before marriage isn't sinning less.

But that's not the answer to my questions.

What makes commitment between two men and two women wrong and men and woman right when the commitment is the same, as so is their faith, and their intentions?

What about their sex invalidates the nature of their relationship?

There's no need for any romantic relationships outside of that type of relationship.

Do you believe in courting?

Most people man/man, man/woman, woman/woman usually get to know each other first before any intimacy and ideally know each other for years before marriage is brought up.

How does sex change the nature of this dynamic?

I'm talking about people will talk about gay people and straight people, not gay people and married people.
They do now, with the fairly recent legalisation of Gay marriage in most Western countries. Gay couples can now be referred to as married couples in the lexicon.
That’s a tad inconvenient now, isn’t it?
