It is amazing how tough humans and other little critters talk when they are miles away from the bear

Well, it's probably a matter of upbringing and television. Kids get teddy bears when they're young, they watch cartoons like Winnie the Pooh and Yogi Bear. They think bears are friendly and just want pick-a-nick baskets. Smokey the Bear made kids believe that they were responsible citizens, but then I saw this commercial:

But seriously, a lot of people are just plain irresponsible when it comes to wild animals. It's not just with bears. I remember some guy feeding coyotes in a parking lot. Some other guy was yelling at him (but wisely keeping his distance) to "Stop, you idiot!"

If I lived in bear country, I'd probably keep a few cats around, as they've been known to fend off bears.

Even a small yappy dog can terrify a bear.

I wonder where that was taken. It looks like it might be some suburban area which would be somewhat removed from areas where bears would be. Although I have heard stories of bears getting pretty brazen, especially if they've been fed by humans.

More race articles. One though, current and only a few days old, black author, stunned to discover anti-semitism is still a nasty thing because apparently an NFL player made an anti-semitic tweet and it went unpunished, and the author was highlighting how it turns out their experience of racism as black people doesn't sensitive them to the racism experienced by others.
Ill say it again, America isn't a black and white issue. But apparently it takes twitter and celebrity worship yo discover that.

Some have that sensitivity but too many don't.
I slightly misquoted and forgot to specifically "as black people," as it actually is important to the thesis of the articke.
But, you are correct. The narrative from the Left I get too often is having that sensitivity is determined by race, with blacks having it and whites not. Which makes me how often those sorts get outside of their little bubbles and worlds and echo chambers, and why there are few voices in the Left condemning such "judge by skin color" behaviors.
And, indeed, regardless of skin color, some people are more sensitive than others. People are people. That alone requires lots of patients amd understanding to understand everything on a level no one is capable of. People make mistakes. They can do worse.

- Those unfamiliar with the cycle.
- Children who love to turn cranks, & watch things move.
- Guys who will say "Hey, a vertical sideshaft.".
(Sideshafts are desirable features.)

Btw, @columbus will love your post.
As it by proxy came out of your mouth. Or the tips of your fingers, he will.:p
