Well, you're not one of "they" (a good thing).
But, I do think it is a good question to ask. If something like that were to happen, then what happens? Trump's basically **** out of luck given inauguration is really just a meaningless ceremony. His successor will become president, even if Trump wants to stand in front of the cameras and say no. He's not the president at that moment anymore. He's powerless.
For Trump it's now or never, but his entire presidency has been words and desires without ambition or indication he's going to be a dictator or not go. He's probably counting down the days until he doesnt have to deal with it at all anymore and hoping he really dose lose.

If not, I'm sure they'll admit being wrong.

I still have to insist it is a very great question to ask, as it's we know we must ensure there is something in place to prevent that. It turns out in this situation there is.
