I've never understood just what the reason was. Perhaps you can help me?Jesus is the man, the myth, the legend! God set him apart from all the rest for a reason.
Since the Bible is metaphorical it could be any reason you chooseI've never understood just what the reason was. Perhaps you can help me?
Why was Jesus on a suicide mission from the start? (Mark 2:20, Mark 14:36 and so on).
What did Jesus' death actually accomplish? What aspect of reality was different afterwards?
Why did it need a death? Why couldn't an omnipotent God have effected any change [he] wished with one snap of [his] omnipotent fingers?
Ah, so the bible has no intrinsic meaning ─ only whatever the reader would like it to mean!Since the Bible is metaphorical it could be any reason you choose
That's how I was raisedAh, so the bible only means whatever the reader would like it to mean!
A bit like Aladdin's Lamp ─ no, more like Dr Who's psychic paper.
Thanks for clearing that up.
Since homosexual behavior is found throughout the animal kingdom, the only credible explanation is that it's God's wish and intention.Signs that from Sodom and Gomorrah, homosexual behaviour

This story belongs to the myth of the "Dying and Rising deity" which occurs in several cultures. It seems to be an astro-mythical telling of a Sky Deity revolving on the night Sky.Jesus is the man, the myth, the legend! God set him apart from all the rest for a reason.
Theologically, this death is needed in order to hold the humanity to the idea that "we are all sinners" so that priests and politicians could govern their gatherings. Why did it need a death? Why couldn't an omnipotent God have effected any change [he] wished with one snap of [his] omnipotent fingers?
Way behind Rome ─ they don't use the bible at all there, as I recall. That's basically Protestantism in a single sentence, lol
My questions were about any underlying theology for the matter. I still haven't found any.Theologically, this death is needed in order to hold the humanity to the idea that "we are all sinners" so that priests and politicians could govern their gatherings.
In fact, this story is just a cultural astro-mythical telling of the dying and rising deity depicting a star constellation image revolving in the night Sky.
When did "God in the Sky" ever engage in human matters? As a celestial image only this "god" is omni-impotent regarding human activities - bad or good.
OK.... you're preaching. So what's your point here?Jesus is the man, the myth, the legend! God set him apart from all the rest for a reason.
Again, what's your point? Should we treat the Bible as mythology, then?Since the Bible is metaphorical it could be any reason you choose
Not following. What do you mean, here? That's how I was raised

Everyone who goes to war could be said that he/she is potentially going on a suicide mission.I've never understood just what the reason was. Perhaps you can help me?

Indeed, if you stop and think about it, once God's omnipotent and omniscient, EVERYTHING is God's wish and intention and ALL the bucks stop at [his] desk.
It´s all nothing but theological dogmas produced by priests (and politicians) in order to hypnotize humans to act as the proponents of the dogmas want them to - i.e. to support the priests themselves. I´t s initially just a huge theological EGO TRIP.Jesus came on a suicide mission to take the consequences of our evil deeds on Himself.
Jesus death and resurrection was to draw us to Him to reap the benefits of His death, as ordained by God in the Hebrew scriptures. Since then people have been born into the Kingdom of God.
We are human and God wants people who freely choose Him not people who are changed by a snap of God's fingers.
This of course is only part of the story.
But this is all folklore. Do you actually believe it?Jesus came on a suicide mission to take the consequences of our evil deeds on Himself.
