How do you believe the world will end?

“Earth,” in the Bible, doesn’t have to mean the planet. Please read Genesis 11:1.....does this verse mean the planet, or the world of people?

The same as at 1 John 2:15-17.

Take care, my cousin.

the kingdom is not of this world
the Carpenter said so

Based on the context when Jesus said that verse, I don't think our Carpenter was talking about the actual Planet of Earth.

I think He was talking about that "world" system at that time, the governing body of the self righteous Pharisees and Jews which were trying to kill him.

Because when Jesus answered,

“My kingdom is not of this world.

He continues on with what would occur concerning the interaction of the involved participants and the outcome would be different in a more honest political environment..

"If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.”
If the Old Time Jews would have recognized the time of their Visitation, He would have gathered them as a hen gatherers it's chicks.

They would have recognized that the Kingdom of God was standing right in their midst, standing right in front of them, looking them in the eye.

After the thousand years are finished, and New Jerusalem comes to the Earth, Thy Kingdom will have come, Thy Will be done.

On Earth as it is in Heaven.

We will drink with the Carpenter, from the wine that is new, in His Father's Kingdom

Peaceful Sabbath.

The world is going to end one day, that’s for sure. In a few million years it will be consumed by our sun, which is going to expand and engulf the innermost planets of the solar system. And a big asteroid may crash into it, thus snuffing out all but the most basic and hardy life-forms…

But what does your religion have to say about how it’s going to end?

As a Christian, this is my understanding:
  1. Jesus Christ returns to Earth from Heaven
  2. Jesus Christ raptures the elect, who go up to heaven
  3. A period of great tribulation occurs on Earth
  4. Jesus Christ returns to Earth from Heaven (again)
  5. Jesus Christ rules over Earth for a whole millennium
  6. Everyone alive on Earth and who were dead before the rapture occurred are judged and given an appropriate after-life
  7. Planet Earth is discontinued
That is my understanding of Christian eschatology, and I know that within Christianity there are many different views - which I would be interested to hear - But also from people of other faiths…

(and I believe that stage 1 is imminent)

I propose that the world will never end. By the time our sun is about to go red giant we will either:

1. Have figured out how to restore our sun to its normal condition.
or
2. Have figured out how to move our planet into orbit around a stable sun.

So, no worries on my part.

The professor taps the blackboard.

"So as you can see from these calculations, the world will be consumed by the sun in fifty billion years' time."

A student leaps to his feet, chalk-white. "What? What did you say?"

The professor taps the calculations again. "Fifty billion years."

The student says, "Oh thank goodness, thank goodness. I thought you said fifteen billion years."

TRAD.

fact is the world ends for a number of people every day . its nothing new. the issue of the world ending for all is the part that gets distorted . its not going to end for every one. scripture makes it plain that the evil element that wants and try's to suppress and supersede God and God's right to rule is what's being ended .
what can you do to be on the right side ,the living side of that event? read and study the bible .ask questions that you receive knowledge.

The baked-by-the-sun time scale isn't the popular science level idea of "5 billion years" (a popular misconception).

The sun would evaporate all oceans on Earth in about 900 million to a billion years.

While we could adapt by technology, we'd prefer a more pleasant place by then....

But a billion years is already a time scale making other extreme events such as super volcanoes for example or a super bug of some kind likely to collapse civilization first. But we'd be lucky to not self destruct first. (It would be surprising to make another 10,000 years on our own is my estimation, without some great luck.)

None of those ending dangers will matter though since God exists, and will accomplish His goals. The redeemed will be transformed.

Who knows how long the sun will last? A few million or billion years? With mankind's expanding knowledge, it will lead to learning how things work on a grander scale. The Terra Forming of Mars is closer than one can imagine. Perhaps, in the distant future, mankind will learn how to seed new life into the sun. You know, it's no more than mere physics. It's no more than a new problem to be solved.

Why think Doom and Gloom? The Adventure might just continue.

That's what I see. It's very clear!!

We have a very well supported idea of how the sun would evolve, watching many stars of similar mass and composition in various stages of life and a lot of understanding of the fusion processes and changes.

That's not at all a "who knows". :)

But... the time for this phase of reality to last until it's totally to be altered is much shorter than millions more years. Far less time, until He remakes this reality.

What do you base this change of reality on? Further, why is there a need to change it since it serves such a good purpose?

Well there's one thing for certain on how the world isn't going to end.

And that's some imaginary sky daddy coming out with a belt strap to lay down the law.

Extinction events aside I think the world will literally end when the sun goes red giant. Either it's going to engulf the Earth, push it out into a new orbit outside the Goldilocks zone, or its going to fling it out into interstellar space according to science papers that I read about the subject.

Our world should survive a large asteroid although life won't likely survive it.

It would almost certainly have to be the sun. I can't even imagine what life would be like if people were still alive during that time. I'm pretty sure it will be anarchy as people slowly get fried or more accurately radiated to death each coming century.

My guess is Satan did it. The universe was once destroyed and created in a single moment like a great firey phoenix, creating alpha and omega instead of all time, the true singularity if you will, thus ensuring Lucifer's fall, the angel of omniscience. But, as fate would have it we can end before and after and save our fallen from the bloody lion.

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

John 8:12When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

I’ve seen your scripture,

And I respond with these:

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
John 14:1-3

I think the bible clearly states that Rapture will occur

As there is no where in those that says anything about a Rapture
You can't even find the word ( Rapture)
In them..so how is it that you come by the Rapture .when the word Rapture can't even be found in them.

God is against those who teach people they will be Rapture ( fly) to save their souls.
It's evidence that you will even go against God himself just to support your Rapture Theory.
Let's see how you handle God being against the Rapture.

Let's see what God has to say about people being Raptured (fly) to save their souls?

God said in the book of
Proverbs 10:30 --"The righteous shall never be removed, but the wicked shall not inherit the earth"

So who's the righteous that shall never be removed?

The Lord Jesus Christ said
In the book of Matthew 5:5 --"Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth"

So here we find the Meek shall inherit the earth.

So that means the Righteous Meek shall never be removed from the earth for they shall inherit the earth.
So how does the Rapture fit into what God is saying
In Proverbs 10:30?

Did you also know that God is against those people who teach people they will be
Raptured (fly) to save their souls.

Notice ( Pillows) in
Ezekiel 13:20 according to the Hebrew Translation means (Teachings)

Ezekiel 13:20--"Wherefore thus saith the LORD God, behold, I am against your pillows ( teachings), wherewith you there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms,
and let the souls go, even the souls that you hunt to make them fly"

It's evidence and very clear what God is talking about here..
The Rapture is where people are being taught they will be
Raptured ( fly) to save their souls.

And it's so easy plain to see exactly what God is talking about here in
Ezekiel 13:20. People being taught they will be Raptured (fly) to save their souls.
And God is against those who teach people they will be Raptured (fly)
To save their souls.

Well it seems God just blew the whole Rapture theory right out of the water.

You mean physics? I speculate that will remain the same, but this is just an opinion.

As a Christian, this is my understanding:
  1. Jesus Christ returns to Earth from Heaven

1 Thessalonians 4:16 New International Version (NIV)
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

1 Corinthians 15:52 New International Version (NIV)
in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

images

The Bible specifies the order of the Lord Jesus Christ coming.
There are 7 angels with the trumpets and for each sound of the trumpet is an event that we will see on earth
Revelation 8:2-13; 9 - If these happens on our life time.
These events as it happens, when the angels sound their trumpets are catastrophic as the Bible describes.

First trumpet : a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up
Second trumpet: a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed
Third trumpet: a third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter
Fourth trumpet: a third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night
Fifth trumpet: pestilence like plague inflicting suffering on the damned for 5 months, Satan is imprisoned
Sixth trumpet: 1/3 of mankind killed in a war

upload_2020-6-22_22-36-21.jpeg

The last trumpet: the Lord Jesus Christ returns, the people who will enjoy the first resurrection and those alive in Christ, will join him for a thousand years in the Holy City

After a thousand years, Satan is released and then prepares a huge army.
The Holy City returns and surrounded by Satan and his army.
Fire from heaven engulfs them and they are routed.

upload_2020-6-22_22-12-5.jpeg

Satan is defeated and thrown to the lake of fire [second death].
The earth and the sky will disappear
The rest of the dead will be resurrected [second resurrection]
The books are opened and each are judged accordingly
Death and the false prophet will be thrown in the lake of fire
and the people whose names are not found in the book of life.
They will be there forever and ever.

Meanwhile...

There will be a new heaven and a new earth for the chosen to enjoy.
Everything in the past will not be remembered.
God would answer the prayers of his chosen even before they asked it.
Everything is made new.
