Hi exchemist,
The Messiah taught that in the last days there would be famines, earthquakes and wars in
Matthew 24:7. These things would be coming on to the world because of the transgression of the Biblical Law, but I fear that many are viewing the judgment that is upon us as simply 'global warming'. However, I realise completely that my 'simple' view that this is judgment, rather than just the effects of greenhouse gases, is met with reluctance. Let me put things another way. If the government were to find a way to turn all our vehicles in to green eco-friendly ones and put a stop to all harmful emissions, we *still* wouldn't able to escape the judgments prophesied on this earth to take place: storms, death, plagues, wars, earthquakes, droughts and famines.
Might I remind you that during Biblical times, even during the time of Abraham, millenia ago, droughts occurred when there was no global warming as there has been from the Industrial Revolution to today. You might recall the story of Joseph. That was an awful *world wide* drought in his day that lasted for 7 years (
Genesis 41:54). I wonder, if a drought like that were to occur today, what would the people say? They would blame it on global warming and wouldn't repent of the evil of their doings, of sin (Revelation 9:20-21).
I know it's going to sound stupid, especially from an atheist perspective, but I believe this 'global warming' is a plot by Satan to distract us from the real reason why these evil things are happening to us. The only solution is to return back to the Bible and to seek Yahweh while he may be found and before it's too late (Isaiah 55:6-7). Look at what is going on with veganism. Many switch to veganism to reduce their impact on the environment. However, it is perfectly OK to eat kosher meat. Yahweh has the solution to climate change, not man. In order for us to receive that solution, we have to seek Him.
Indeed, global judgment is a man-made problem, but it won't be averted unless we keep the commandments of Yahweh.
