Iraqi parliament calls for expulsion of foreign troops

The U.S. has abused their presence in Iraq to launch an assassination of a foreign national who was on his way to meet with the Iraqi Prime Minister. The Iraq Parliament is more than justified is seeking the expulsion of U,S. troops.

In this one Ill considered act Trump has not only made a peaceful relationship with Iran impossible, but he has also destroyed the relationship with Iraq, a much needed ally in the region. With this one stupid move he has undone all the progress that has been made in U.S./Iraq relations in the last twenty years.

And even Trump cannot be stupid enough to think they will get paid for that base or anything else.

Of course.
Wise or not, it's their country.
Giving us the boot is their right.

Some thoughts.....
1) Iraq should pay Ameristan for the base. But note that it will be heavily discounted
from its cost, due to depreciation & unsuitability for the current market.
And until Iraq can buy it, Ameristan must pay ground rent, license fees, & property
taxes (as the owner of the improvements). We might end up owing them.
(Note some sarcasm employed.)
2) Trump hasn't ruined the opportunity for peaceful negotiation with Iran.
If his replacement is a skilled negotiator, it can be done.

When has the US ever left a place once it establishes an economic or military presence?

If Iraq seriously wants the U.S. out of there, and if the U.S. refuses to leave, those troops become an invading force.

Will you go to war with Iraq to keep those troops there?

Well, we've gone to war with plenty of other places to expand/maintain our empire.

The best America can do now is to pull back every soldier in any country they ever have been in or stay in now. and never send a soldier out of America again.

Why would the US need any more than the National Guard and Coast Guard? Think what could be accomplished if the rest of our military budget were diverted to health, education, infrastructure, housing and social services.
The military doesn't "protect" us. It's our military adventurism that generated any foreign animosity in the first place.

If it is against the will of the Iraqi people for the US military to be there we should respect that decision, trump is not some global god-king.
