The Bible - Why Trust It

I won't argue with you, since you will just repeat yourself. If you show me in the letter where he used the word childish, then I will accept that you are not just making claims.
The letter is in the German language, so are you sure you are quoting what Einstein really said?
I'm telling you, he never used the word childish.
However, I already stated, he viewed the Hebrew texts as primitive, and filled with superstition, and legends.

I also know Einstein views on Spinoza's God.
Let's forget that though, as I explained, what my point was in the post. What he believed is therefore irrelevant to
the point I was making.

The letters of Einstein are documented and accurate. There is absolutely no reason to question the translations.

Tell me though, how did I misrepresent Einstein?

I already did that

Like I said, a tsunami could not move you to accept anything against what you say, no matter how wrong you are.
Einstein never used the word childish, and you cannot show anything to support that claim.
I have the right to dismiss your claim as meaningless, as you cannot support it.

I already did that
No you did not.
If you believe you did, then clearly you misrepresented my statements, and obviously don't care that I pointed that out to you.

The bottom line is you dishonestly misrepresented Einstein to justify your agenda. What quoted from Einstein is accurate and specific.

You can't support that claim either. It's actually worst than claiming. It's a lie. ...and again there is your agenda - anyone that does not agree with your belief become a target for your agenda.
Sorry you have to also lie to support it.

What was your point in using that quote of Einstein? It sure looks as if @shunyadragon 's assessment is accurate.

I already told you wich letter it was and to whom it was addressed. Clearly you made no effort at all to look it up. If you type "einstein letter to eric gutkind" in google, you get page after page with transcriptions.

Letters of Note: The word God is the product of human weakness

The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weakness, the Bible a collection of honorable, but still purely primitive, legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. No interpretation, no matter how subtle, can change this for me. For me the Jewish religion like all other religions is an incarnation of the most childish superstition.

A scan of the full handwritten letter is included in the link. It is off course in German.

Yes.

Für mich ist die unverfälschte jüdische Religion wie alle anderen Religionen eine Incarnation des primitiven Aberglaubens.

It is perfectly fine to translate the bolded part as "childish superstition" or "primitive superstition".
I've seen both translations. They essentially mean the same thing.

What he believed is therefore irrelevant to the point I was making.

Then why did you attempt to abuse a quote of him?

Tell me though, how did I misrepresent Einstein?

You quoted him as if it he's on your side of the fence. But he isn't, off course.

The claim is supported by actual correspondence from Einstein in his own handwriting.

Why do you waste so much time trying to defend something that these other posters are not interested in? Why not do something worthwhile?

Sorry. I, as well as other scholars, use the same "facts" that you, or "experts" do, and the "results" are always different.
They are opinions... period. End of story.
Arrogance is no substitute for scholarship.

primitiven means childish??? Spout Spout. Where do I find that other than what is spouted here?

I am not going to post an answer and explanation to a question, only to have someone repeat their own false idea about what I meant. If you already know what I meant, or the reason for my saying something, then why ask? What sense does it make to ask a person why they said something, and when they give the answer, you continue as though they said nothing? If you already know, and can speak for others, then what is the purpose of the other person speaking?
If someone did that to you, how do you think you would feel? I hope it would make you feel as sick as it makes me feel. That level of arrogance is... ugh .

If that is the way with you and @shunyadragon then please, just don't ask me anything. Just go ahead and form your own baseless assumptions. That goes for any who insist I did not mean what I said, and accuse me of dishonesty.
I am not dishonest. I tell the truth. If I am wrong, I admit it, and this can be seen from my posts here on RF. If you claim you don't see it, then I suggest it is because, you don't want to.
Some people don't seem to have a humble bone remaining in them, so that they even want persons to agree with anything they say - wrong or right.

The thing you invoke to accept something as true, when that thing can't be accepted on its own merrits.

In other words: when you have no vaid evidence
Sorry, that is not Christian faith. It's not my faith. Perhaps it is yours, since you believe whales evolved from four footed creatures, based on rock hardened bones with nostrils and ear remnants, that says absolutely nothing.

Of course it is your faith. But then you run from offers that would let you properly judge your beliefs.

And I see that you have to once again accuse others of your sins.

One more time, would you like to have a discussion on the nature of evidence?

Apparently, there are some persons not interested in paying attention. I know. I know. That's me right. Yet, why don't I repeat myself after someone state themselves clearly?

Arrogance is no substitute for anything... other than humility - which is very, very bad.
That’s what I said. However, you’re attempting to substitute scholarship with arrogance. And you’re right: the result is a dumpster fire.
