Lies and Phony Caricatures of Christianity

Do you even read the posts before you respond?

Maybe the reason that you see attack and false narratives everywhere is because you don't actually pay any attention to what people say. You're so involved with your own false narratives that you just don't see or hear what the people around you are saying.

Don't project your biases on me...

..good example of ad hominem deflection.

Evade the topic, and attack the hominid.
Here's where I addressed the topic.
I know a lot of Christians. Some are truly excellent people, some are total douches. Rather like every other huge group of people.
The main difference is that they are a very powerful group, at least around here. So when someone does something nasty "in the Name of Jesus", which happens quite frequently, it gets noticed more by us nonchristians.
You've never addressed it.
Jus' sayin'

Here are some of the reasons i see 'attack and false narratives!':
Definitely a majority of oppression in the world throughout history was caused by Christians.
Certain types of Christians consider science a threat and work actively to try to undermine that which contradicts their faith-based beliefs.
Christians would like to convert the world and get us all into church. Would some Christians use force to make that happen if it were possible? I think so.
Christians have had a poor record when it comes down to exploitation.
So when someone does something nasty "in the Name of Jesus", which happens quite frequently,
The source of caricatures is within the christian community.
Between 1916 and 1975 Christianity took a detour into ignorance.
There are a lot more, in this forum, and a throughout the public discourse. This is just a sampling from this thread.

..which included, at no extra charge, gratuitous ad hom. I merely pointed that out.

I did, of course, in the same reply:
No, you didn't address "rather like every other huge group of people".
The reality is that you dodged that, to return to your false narrative strawman.

They organized in 1913 to go BACKWARDS.

The Fundamentalist Movement - American Historama

The Fundamentalist Movement was a religious movement established by American Protestants as a reaction to theological modernism, which aimed to revise traditional Christian religious beliefs to accommodate new theories and developments in science.

Look at the history of fundamentalism and its organized reaction against science in 1913.

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
Love by fear and by force or perish is fundamental Christianity.

Questioning their Christianity is not an option and consequences are high if you do if Christians have their way.

Broad is the path to destruction, narrow is the gateway to eternal life and few who find it. And yet there are millions upon millions of Christians.

Christians are fighting a war between good and evil, and the enemies are non believers whom they are to love.

That sums it up for me about Christianity.

The Fundamentalist Movement - American Historama
www.american-historama.org/1913-1928-ww1-prohibition-era/fundamentalist-movement.htm
Summary and Definition: The Fundamentalist Movement emerged following WW1 as a reaction to theological modernism. Fundamentalists also rejected the modernity of the "Roaring Twenties" that increased the impulse to break with tradition and witnessed Americans beginning to value convenience and leisure over hard work and self-denial.

..yes, this is a popular and common perception.

Is it based on:

1. Observable reality?
2. False caricatures, from enemies?
3. Jesus's teachings?

That is the question. What is the SOURCE of these perceptions? Why are progressives so homogeneous in these perceptions?

Is this Truth, or a lie?

You responded with:
People of all philosophical beliefs do 'nasty!' things. Are you suggesting that only 'Christians!' ..... are 'nasty!', and have brought all the evil into the world?

If you really don't see the problem with your responses, I don't know what to say.

Oh please!
You're just in denial.
For sheer out an out cherry picking hypocrisy the more extreme sects and cults of Christianity take the biscuit.

And you try and hide behind moderate Christianity, which in my opinion you ain't.

..good example of ad hominem deflection.

Evade the topic, and attack the hominid.

Fundamentalism surged in a very organized way in 1913.. as a reaction against modernity. The timeline is parallel the growth of Zionism. In the 1930s the Jewish communities in the US had blue box collections to buy guns for Jewish refugees in Palestine.

Think about it...….

Because fundamentalists are xenophobic: religious fundamentalism is a reaction to the multiculturalism of liberal democracy. Rather than seek a "brotherhood of man," religious fundamentalism longs for a tribal community, without the necessary friction from those with foreign beliefs, cultures and customs.

You can judge me, and caricaturize me how you wish. I have made no claim of moderation.

If i were to describe my 'christian' level, i would say i am a fire breathing apologist for the Christian faith.. and i DID inhale!! :D

How would you describe YOUR level of anti-christian bigotry, since you're wanting to apply personal labels?

Active promoter of smears and lies?
Unwitting bobblehead to progressive Indoctrination?
Hobbyist?

No, innuendo works fine.. ;)

..but you still addressed the hominid, instead of the topic..

Its a hard habit to break, and it is so steeped in forum 'debates', that we become desensitized to it.
