How so? Technology is not only making communication and travel so much more fluid, but it is also increasing our use of resources as it is destroying the capacity of those resources to replenish. Population growth combined with that means we are no longer able to reside alone in our neck of the woods without cooperation with the rest of humanity.
I grew up with no technology, and I can actually remember when my dad came home in 1970 with an old Texas Instrument calculator he got from a sales rep.
it was incredible.
Some of our friends and family came visiting too see this thing working.
I worked, my first job, in a Chicken abbattoir, where we slaughtered only 30 000 chickens a day at that time, and every box weight, invoice, WAT, all the calculations to get the stuff to the customer, was done by hand.
We had a team of say 15 people doing all the admin.
Today I work in poultry abbattoirs slaughtering 2.4 million chickens per day, and we have 3 people doing all the recording and invoicing.
Moral of the story is, if it was not for technology, production costs would be 10 times higher, and food would me less affordable.
technology does not only improve the quality of products, it allows more productivity.
And it does not reduce the labour force need.
Actually, it increases the need for labour.
Except for the technical employment with higher salaries, which are more affordable to the producer, there are more recycling, more secondary employment such as sub contracting etc.
Look at China.
They mechanised to provide more employment.
Only the persons who dont want to think out of the box, so to say, will be scared of Technological advancements.
You should embrace it and be the leader in your field, even if you are small.
