Uh huh. Who knows if that will ever happen. We've been hearing about it for centuries now.

I prefer to take care of the one earth we know we have while I live the only life I know I have.

It is far worse than that. It is widely used
to excuse, justify, nay, Glorify the most
unconscionable exploitation.

I mean, like, it is all corrupt and to be recycled soon,
make the most of it now, it was given to us to use,
not waste.

That's the part that angers me the most, I think.

I think that some churches are trying
to swim upstream against it, but, it is far
from mainstream. The focus is elsewhere.

I was driving across Kansas, where the radio
will pick up preachin', football,l and right wing
talk. "Russian Limbowski" as I call him, was on,
I listened for a bit. He was talking about just
that, how we should use trees, whatever,
coz that is what they are there for.

I had to clean out my ears, and the radio,
with acetone. :D

It seems to me you do Not grasp the concept of Ecclesiastes 3:11 that mankind will never find out the work that the true God has made from start to finish. So, we will always be learning new things if we wish.
You really aren't able to grasp the concept of eternity are you?

(1) They will serve mankind living on Earth as ' kings ' meaning taking care of governmental responsibilities for those who gain everlasting life on Earth at the time of Revelation 22:2.
(2) They will serve mankind living on Earth as ' priests ' meaning taking care of spiritual duties towards those who gain everlasting life on a beautiful paradisical Earth as described at Isaiah 35th chapter.
Now I'm positive that you really aren't able to grasp the concept of eternity!

Serving Mankind? Being a public servant for eternity? God, I'm glad I'm an atheist.

Here is less than .00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% of eternity: 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000...

IF you bothered with a follow-up question or two of
your friend, you would understand what I said,
and you missed.

However, I did understand what he was saying because as a Catholic to him Peter was the first Pope and what the Pope says is what counts.
Church history was superior to him over Scripture, thus that is why he said the Bible should be thrown in the trash.

If home
You may take comfort in what you read but you are clearly not aware of what is happening to our world and how fast it is being destroyed. And what about Christians who are bringing ruin to the earth. Will god stop them?

I am wondering how you know that I don't know how fast Earth is being ruined or destroyed.
As to those 'Christians' who are bringing ruin to Earth, they are the fake 'weed/tares' Christians that Jesus warned about. Jesus said that MANY would come ' in his name ' but prove false at Matthew chapter 7.
So, yes God will STOP them. They are Not part of genuine ' wheat ' Christianity ' but part of Christendom (apostate Christianity) Christendom is the modern-day monstrosity that soon will be stopped when the political world will suddenly turn her. In other words, religious 'house cleaning' will start with Christendom.
As the old adage says 'a new broom sweeps clean'. Jesus as that figurative ' broom ' will sweep away those fake ' weed/tares' Christians.

A lot of people think the Bible is fantasy, but to me that does Not change what we can learn from the Bible.
I find there is nothing fantasy about Matthew 24:14; Acts 1:8 because that preaching work is being done on a grand international scale just as foretold it would be done. So, to me that means since we have reached that ' final phase ' of the work, then we are nearing the ' final signal ' of 1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 when the ' powers that be ' will be saying, " Peace and Security.... " but that is the precursor to the coming great tribulation of Revelation 7:14.
As the world scene deteriorates that is No fantasy to me but proof the living Bible is coming to pass.
As it is written, so it is coming to be.
Since you believe this stuff, it's no wonder you don't believe in or care about Climate Change.

I never said serving mankind, being a public servant for 'eternity'. I would Not say that because at the end of Jesus' 1,000-year governmental rule over Earth comes to an end according to 1 Corinthians 15:26 Jesus will hand back God's kingdom to his God. Jesus' millennium-long day of governing over Earth is only for a thousand years.
By that time mankind living on Earth will have reached the perfection to have a one-on-one relationship with God.
Eternity concept means: forever and ever.

[QUOTE="URAVIP2ME,
A lot of people think the Bible is fantasy, but to me that does Not change what we can learn from the Bible.

IF you had not cut out the rest of what I said, to concentrate
on something irrelevant, you would see how the thing
about "a lot of people think,,," is really nonsense.
You would really have to be out of your mind to think that.
Out of their mind people are not of intereset here.

It kind of annoys me to keep seeing this moldy canard
about the bible, as if the entire thing is a 100% or nothing.

SOME of the bible is obviously true. Who disputes
the existence of Egypt! Sherlock Holmes is fiction;
London fogs are real.

GALILEE is real. NOAHS ARK is childish myth.

A little more invedtigation re what people
really mean, a little nuance, my friend!

I didnt think I would have to explain that!

IF you would respond to the above, it would be like
an actual conversation.

And, of course there are plenty of good words of wisdom in
the bible. Surely nobody is such a dope, nobody
worthy of talking to at least, would deny that.

OF course there is plenty to learn! It also has a lot
of magic -magic hooey, but, elsewhere, there is good stuff.

Since you believe this stuff, it's no wonder you don't believe in or care about Climate Change.

Why do you conclude I don't care about Climate Change. I know you can't change Climate Change.
You do Not have the power to do that. You do Not have the power to stop people from throwing plastic, etc. into the water systems. You do Not have the power to stop factory pollution. You do Not have the power to stop wars.
Genuine Christians live by the Golden Rule so they do Not contribute to adversely to the Climate.
Plus, they have the same self-sacrificing love for others as Jesus has.
That self-sacrificing love includes living by the Golden Rule and letting others know that God will bring to ruin those ruining Earth (with Climate Change) before man can bring ruin to Earth. So, both go hand-in-hand. Not being part of the Climate-Change problem and letting others know that although man can't solve the problem, the problem will be solved.
Those who go through the coming 'great tribulation' will Not be those who contribute to the Climate-Change problem.

Yes, I know mankind has been hearing about ' it ' for centuries, but hearing about something is Not only what counts.
Never before in history has mankind seen the fulfillment of Jesus' words that the good news about God's kingdom would be proclaimed on a grand international scale as it is being done today.
So, the difference now is that we are at the ' final phase ' of that world-wide preaching work.
That means we are nearing the ' final signal ' when the 'powers that be' will be saying, "Peace and Security" which will prove to be the precursor to the coming great tribulation on Earth before Jesus,as Prince of Peace, will usher in global Peace on Earth among persons of goodwill.

I was just going by what you said:
according to Revelation 5:9-10 instead of harps there are two (2) jobs in Heaven to do.
Not for those resurrected to healthy physical life on Earth, but those of Revelation 2:10; 20:6 have two (2) jobs:
(1) They will serve mankind living on Earth as ' kings ' meaning taking care of governmental responsibilities for those who gain everlasting life on Earth at the time of Revelation 22:2.
(2) They will serve mankind living on Earth as ' priests ' meaning taking care of spiritual duties towards those who gain everlasting life on a beautiful paradisical Earth as described at Isaiah 35th chapter.

If you meant only for 1000 years, you should have said only for 1000 years.

Eternity concept means: forever and ever.
I know what eternity means. I'm asking if you can really comprehend what it means. The only way one could survive eternity is if God wipes your memory clean every trillion or so years so you can start over. But that's not really eternal life, is it?

The Earth will continue without man if we do not change the way we change how we treat the Earth. Take a moment to look beyond your book to see we are doing to the Earth and help to preserve this Earth so that there is something worth inheriting.

Earth without man to me would be a Zoo without visitors.
Real Christians treat the Earth by applying the Golden Rule, and applying Jesus' new commandment to have the same self-sacrificing love for others as he has. Jesus did Not pollute.
Jesus used his power to calm the angry sea by using the words from his mouth and the sea obeyed him. Jesus controlled weather phenomenon.
When living by the Golden-Rule life style then one is already treating the Earth as it should be treated.
Just helping to preserve is Not the solution because there aren't enough people helping to preserve the Earth.
That is why God will bring ruin to those ruining the Earth. Then Earth will then be safe for those genuine helpers.
