If a Christian does not speak according to the bible, then that Christian is speaking falsehoods. Which makes them a false Christian.

There you have it. A reliable, repeatable test with no error. Excellent. Everyone will be so relieved. But what about Christians that aren't as familiar with every passage of the Bible? What about false Christians that know the Bible well and can lie their way through your test? Oh my.

Would that include Christ's admonition to not judge anybody else? Because calling someone a "false Christian" would definitely seem to be a judgement call.

I believe Christ also had a thing or two to say about hypocrites, and you might want to look those up.

This means, if you judge another, make sure they doing to what they are revealing.

This means, just because a person may act a certain way, judge them not by the appearance
But judge righteous judgment. This means, make sure beyond all shadow of a doubt that they are doing what they are revealing.

Ah, so you could check whether somebody stoned their daughter to death at the doorway for losing her virginity, and thus conclude that this is indeed a Christian.

I accept the conclusions of science. I'm sure I will probably burn in Hell for that in the eyes of many Christians. I don't follow a literal interpretation of the Bible. I bet smoke is already curling off of my shoulders and backside.

I know many atheists that know the Bible better than most Christians I know. I think they could pass your test on what the Bible says they should say in response to the questions. I'm probably failing your test with each post. I'm OK with that. I don't think it is much of a test.

Apparently I don't. I was under the impression it was accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and following his teachings. There is so much more to it apparently. No one told me.

Whatever determines that, it is NOT you. I would think, though I am not religious, that that would be something that only the individual and God could agree on, and no other person in the universe has anything to say about it.

Goodness, that would have prevented an awful lot of burnings at the stake, wouldn't it?

That is exactly how I see it too. I don't know whether a person claiming to be Christian really is or not. I have only their word to go on. This other guy doesn't know either. The only person I can say for sure is a Christian with any authority is me. I don't know what is in the hearts and minds of others. I can see behaviors and draw conclusions about whether I will follow or accept a particular individuals words or actons, but even then, they could be completely honest in their position and just not very good at following the generally accepted patterns.

I find all this talk about "true Christians" and test to ferret out "true Christians" to be silly.

But I would trust a person that has read and objectively reviewed the bible of rocketry over one that hasn't or doesn't understand what they read. Someone emotionally attached might not be as objective as someone that isn't.

So, your test of the Bible might not work on them. Then it isn't a very good test. Unless you want to define Christians in some different way other than accepting and following Christ. One thing I do know about the Bible is that there is no criteria for becoming a Christian that requires being a biblical scholar.

Looks like you just dusted your test. It's just as well. It's silly, when you think about it.

Rockets are easy, the people have been making them them for 1000 years, the average guy (or child) sets them off for fun every celebration. One does not even need to read a book to know how a rocket works. But those who do and go on to be rocket scientists will generally spend 5 or 7 years of intense study before earning one PhD. Many have multiple PhDs.

So how does this compare to reading a bible?

There's no insult intended, alot of people don't know, what makes a Christian to be a Christian.

People seem to think that just because a person will say, I am a Christian that makes them a Christian.

What actually makes a Christian, is knowing the bible inside and out.

And not what some pastor, preacher will say.
There are alot of Christians that has no clue or idea what the Bible actually does say and support.
They only know what their Pastor's,Preachers will tell them.
