Jai Lakshmi Maa
Namaste All,
Today I attended a special program at my local temple sponsored by the Hindu American Foundation. It's a program designed to help members of the Hindu community learn how to speak about our faith in a clear and concise way so that we can take control of the narrative and information that is spread about us. The program is completed in 4 parts. I participated in parts 1 & 2 today along with about 20 other participants. Part 1 was a basic introduction and discussion about the challenges of communicating about Hinduism, and the importance for improving our explanation and speaking skills. The second part broke down the very basics of Hinduism and then the presenter explored different ways of talking about controversial topics like caste and the Aryan Invasion Myth. At the end participants each took turns presenting one of five topic to the group for 2-5 minutes. I chose Moksha and I think I did okay.
Pictures and more updates to come.
