Islamic anger

Yes my mistake it may sound like that so i apologize, i have just not yet found one that i can talk to reasonably and agree to disagree.

I agree with most here. I have met many Muslims and they have awesome hospitality and culture and great food too. I find them beautiful people.

I've seen people of other Faiths apart from Muslims throw temper tantrums over minor issues. Everyone has a temper and everyone has a trigger point so many people react angrily when criticised and when my Faith is attacked I don't like it either.

Very few people will get angry though if we speak with respect and courtesy.

However i have found muslims are quick to anger in what should be a normal conversation if you disagree or express an opinion contrary to there belief. They will happily explain why Buddha came from the devil, but if you give your opinion on Muhammad you can see they would kill you if given half a chance.

In my view the Muslims I've met have been very willing to discuss issues and on the whole have been friendly and warm... I had a Syrian roommate in college who invited me to visit his family in Aleppo Syria... He shared his culture with me and I learned a lot... I wasn't able to go to Aleppo years ago but I regret it now as there's been so much destruction there.

I've met Ahmadis and other Muslims... no problems.

I've also visited Mosques in Israel, Trinidad and in Los Angeles and San Bernardino area and never had any problems what so ever.

Finally I've worked with Muslims in inter-faith groups and again no problems.

Religiosity and exposure to alternate beliefs varies. I suspect sensitivity to challenge is proportional to the individual's ego-investment in his particular belief system and his theological sophistication.

Well it would be strange if someone insulted my mother while i still sit down with that person or feel happy about it. The thing is that i love prophet PBUH more than my own mother and father.

I control the anger cuz this is good command of the prophet pbuh.
But dont expect me to sit down with such person after insulting the prophet pbuh.

The best i can do is distance.

Never seen this happen even by members of this forum I have had strong dialogues with. More so one shouldn't confuse a heated debate with outright anger and violence. I may **** them off with how I write, I am very blunt and to the point, but this does mean a murderous rage or anger at what I say rather than how I say it. Have you considered how you express yourself? As per my own example I know I will offend people so I do not take reaction as the type of anger you are talking about. You could be confusing the reactions.

In certain muslim places a debate even friendly will get you locked up.

Not to hospitable or tolerant.

At least we are free to debate
Yes so true, why do they need to be so ugly with their beliefs, they believe they are the only chosen people of God, and everyone else is a dog, a pig, filth.............yes it is ugly.

In my experience few discussions about religion end well and there is rarely any gain to had from starting one. This is broadly true for any topic that people feel strongly about and certainly isn't unique to Islam.

There is a reason why many ban discussion of religion and politics in groups not focused on those topics.

Of course discussion of politics and religion with mature individuals can be both enjoyable and enlightening but is sadly rare.

Also don't forget that it may be your approach that is winding these individuals up ;)

I don't agree, these people are all ready wind up, all because of their harmful beliefs to every decent person.

Certainly religious individuals can be fractious but again this isn't unique to religion and is a general characteristic of people.

In my own country (UK) political discussion has become extremely unpleasant of late.

Islamists might not like what we think of Islam in the West, but it does not stop them from wanting to come here.

I have studied and worked alongside Muslims and there has never been a problem.

Over 1% of my countries population are Muslim and they make good citizens.

if you disagree or express an opinion contrary to there belief.
Think you're meaning the fake ones, these are the ones who reject all the other sacred text globally, picking and choosing which books they want to accept:

4:150-151 Indeed, those who disbelieve in Allah and His messengers and wish to discriminate between Allah and His messengers and say, "We believe in some and disbelieve in others," and wish to adopt a way in between - Those are the disbelievers, truly. And We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment.

Unfortunately due to Islamic scholars dictating what everyone should believe, many of them are not Muslims (to Submit to the Oneness of God), and refuse any outside guidance, this is why some of them get mad. :innocent:

Fundamentalist Muslims are like that. Fundamentalist Christians are like that . Fundamentalist Jews are like that. The problem is not with any specific religion but with fundamentalism. Fundamentalism takes spiritual messages and turns them into mundane literalism.

Every person is different. But Muslims in general are more passionate about their religions than people of other faiths

I have to admit, I am not at all a fan of Islam, Christianity nor Judaism (orthodox or otherwise), but I've met both dogmatically zealous as well as lovely people from each of those religions. But I dislike the Abrahamic faiths as a whole and would do away with them if it were ever possible to do it. Alas, I am not - God. :p

Then ,they need to understand and relearn this verse from Quran.

Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance. Quran ( 16 : 125 )

I would be quick to agree, seeing as I dislike religion in general and am inclined to think that Islam is worse than most others.

However, let me ask you: Did oyu debate them online? Online debates tend to escalate fairly quickly, and if you are a bit predisposed against Islam, those conversations probably won't go that well...
