I voted no. I can't view something I don't even believe is real as cruel. Which would mean that any supposed cruelty God is being blamed for either comes from misfortune or from humans.
Well of course its all imaginary, but to play along, my answer was yes.

Why does god need to make this life in your image? If God directly influenced you life could you really have choice? You have lived how long on this earth, you have seen how much loss how are you able to judge God?

Blame whomever you want, as long as you blame others you will never find the truth.
What's wrong with God giving me some clear instructions, clear understanding and answering my questions? I hear a lot in my heart and if it is from God...well...i don't know what to say *Shrug*

I think I just may have lost a friend I prayed the Rosary with because we got in a conversation about the book of revelation and I said I thought it was ridiculous. Then I said the Bible contradicts itself. Then I said God is cruel.

Truly I think God is cruel. He watches so many people in agony and refuses to console them. But what I find very cruel is he wont even speak clear messages to people. He watches throughout history Muslims persecute and kill non-muslims, non-muslims kill Muslims, Christians kill pagans, Catholics kill protestants and vice versa, and repeatedly God refuses to speak clear messages to people, but by doing so he could end such division and killings. The reason there is so much division is God could guide people and he refuses.

For God to see so much agony and refuse to speak up is just cruel. I'm not saying God can be to blame for everything. People need to take some responsibility for our choices and our misery, but I don't think people would make a lot of those choices if they would hear God speak clear messages to them.

If I were God, there would be no such thing as Atheists because I would speak up to people. Would there seriously be Atheists if God actually was willing to speak to everyone?

I would console all hurting people. If I saw a kid getting raped, tortured, and murdered, I would defend them. To not do so is just plain cruel! God could do so without it costing him a thing and he refuses. It's just disgusting!

Shame on you Mr. God! I know you're reading this!!

How do we know God is concerned? Are we special? Except for symbolic communication abilities, we are just like other species, we live, die, and turn to dust. Humans have had their chance, but blew it. Humans do not obey God's Commandments. Therefore, they suffer consequences.

Wow, thanks for a great reply Matthew, yes I understand where you are right now, for I have been there also, I have schizophrenia, and I have been mad with an ax and put away fro it. If what you believe right now helps you then go for it, but I have noticed that you haven't been very happy with God for awhile now, and that is why I suggested you to give him a rest.

This belief in god can be very confusing to someone who has metal issues, lets face it we don't really know anything about God, except what we have read or have been told, and the experience that we believe is from God is in most cases, is nothing more than an echo from what we believe we already know about this God.

We need to work out why we need this God, what are we substituting this belief for, is it fear from whatever happened in the past, is it guilt from something we did ?. Anyway I hope you work it out, for your own good.............have you ever thought of Buddhism ?.

I practice Buddhism to a certain extent. I try to purge myself of all desire for desire leads to suffering.

precisely. He just might not be concerned. We aren't special I guess but he claimed he loved us. He does a **itty job of showing it.
