Does reincarnation make life meaningless?

Why would it have that effect? As a Hindu, I've been taught that the purpose of my life is to learn to live in the present and to live life to the fullest. Do you know anything about Krishna in our religion? He is the prefect example of one who lives life to the fullest and he is who we should strive to be like.
I know a lot about Krishna, but you shouldn't copy him, you must find your true SELF within, and that true Self is your inner Krishna, Christ, Buddha, or whatever label you feel comfortable with.

What evidence ?, there is non, believing is one thing, but claiming evidence is another.
Have you studied the strongest cases of reincarnational memories of children? Have you studied the great spiritual teachers of the east/India. I have and this has formed my opinion.

Well...according to some beliefs. I personally haven't read this in Shruti texts.
There's no requirement for it to be in Shruti texts though. If it's in Smriti, then we can accept it (as long as great personalities in the past have accepted it).

I wasn't implying that one should copy him.

Where does it say that we become ghosts if we commit suicide?

Your opinion is from second-hand knowledge, you must go within and find the truth for yourself.

Until I know the truth DIRECTLY I will respect the teachings of the sages/masters I most respect. And the evidence presented by the best parapsychological researchers on reincarnation. Takes a long time to realize the truth on our own, but I'm working on it.:)

Yes. I haven't read it before but have simply been told by others. So I can't be sure that it is a genuine teaching.
I honestly don't know where it is in Smriti, or where I am supposed to look. I believe the Manu Smriti has something to say about it. Either way, what I am trying to say is that suicide is condemned in scripture. We can talk about the ghost thing in our own DIR. :)

It doesn't mention suicide. It says:

"O Garuda, a person becomes a ghost and undergoes the sufferings thereof, if he dies an accidental or untimely death or if his body is not cremated properly"

I've not read the Puran...i've just heard from a friend who's brother committed suicide

But working on it is missing the whole point, you are already there, stop making excuses.

Yes its only an opinion, and who is going to call children a liar, children get their ideas from their parents, if you are a Christian your child will have that within their belief of what they experienced, if your child is Hindu then your child's dream will be based on that belief system.

Yes but you are God, now find your inner knowledge.
Actually, the proper term would be to say "God is you", since in at least Advaita, you have no separate existence to Brahman ("God"). Once you understand that you are not different from God, you have already found inner knowledge, as per Advaita (which George follows).
