Hypersexuality can afflict either gender.
Hypersexuality is not an illness. Sex is not a problem, but a value.
Addiction is when you use something outside your body: coffee, cigarette, drug etc etc. But sex is not an addiction.

I believe some people thrive for sexual encounters finding a sense of fulfillment in them.
Although that seems more common in men, to find accomplishment in how many women they've slept with.
Idealologies vary from region to region, particularly between areas like the US - Europe - Middle East.
The US seems to have changed drastically in my time alone (28) going from a strong modesty regarding sexuality to it being more socially accepted,
Comes down to evolution, the more monogamous a woman is the more likely the kid a man raises is his own. A woman's child is always hers but there's a chance it's not the fathers.
The more hyper sexual she is, the more likely she is to have other partners. And more likely a man raising the kid is being a sucker. Simple as that.
Anything can be an addiction. Dont get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a strong sex drive, but when it starts to interfere with your life in a negative way, its a problem. But if you can have lots and lots of sex without that, then thats great.Hypersexuality is not an illness. Sex is not a problem, but a value.

I want to start this thread by talking about my personal heroine, Valerie Tasso, author of "Diary of a Nymphomaniac".
Valerie Tasso is a terrific sexologist, with whom I agree on everything.
She claims that nymphomania doesn't exist. It is a word invented by sexist men to describe those women who have the courage to admit that they have very strong sex drives.
Yes. The majority of women do have strong sex drives. But only a small percentage admits it. And these women are labeled as nymphomaniacs, that is, sick people.
That's a pity. Because nymphos are normally gorgeous women with large breasts and tiny waist. Human Venuses
Hay........... You shouldn't be labelling women who like sex as 'Nymphos'....... that's a horrible slur. You're coming unstuck here.... really.
...and to suggest that women who like sex are usually large breasted and beautiful is perfectly shocking prejudgement.....
I know. In America teenage girls brag about their virginity...whereas a European 20 year old woman would never tell she's a virgin, otherwise she would be mocked from sunrise to sunset.
One can't help but wonder if it's a rather shameful attempt at boasting. Narcissism at its peak.

I lose IQ points every time I read a post by Hay85.

1) women who like sex and are aware of their own sexuality are not nymphomaniacs.
2) nymphomania is sexual addiction and is not a positive thing.
Based on what evidence? Don't say "that's how it seems to me" or something along similar lines, because that's just anecdotal. Give us a source. That's a pity. Because nymphos are normally gorgeous women with large breasts and tiny waist. Human Venuses
If it causes relationship stress, leads to shirking responsibilities or to having impulsive sex with stranger after stranger, it most certainly is a problem.Hypersexuality is not an illness. Sex is not a problem, but a value.
"Any woman who is lucky enough to have sex more often than me obviously has something wrong with her" -- That's about all nymphomania means to most of the people who accuse others of being nymphomaniacs, in my experience.
