From where does the theory of qutb (in sufism) come from? How did it first originate? it is a big claim that world's existence depends on existence of qutb so it should be a pretty old thing if true. Any information you have?

To get people to respond, you will have to give more information about this "Axis."

Most here don't understand Sufism.

Qutb is said to be the head of the hirearchy of earthly saints. qutbs existence and whereabouts is unknown to almost all those saints. What i understand qutb is like an metaphysical intermediary between those saints and god so much so that even world's existence is claimed to be depending on it..sounds elitist in a way but then not much because it is said actual qutb is never known by people and is always hidden. that's all i understand.
