Right here, right here! I'm an alien believer!

Oh...oh. You mean believers IN aliens?

I hope I didn't give myself away.

I believe they probably exist but are extremely rare. I believe we happened naturally and logic dictates to me that anything that can happen naturally can or will happen again. I think even if a simple enzyme is highly improbable the happen naturally out of blind happenstance the universe I am still inclined to believe life as we know it pretty much guaranteed. Particularly in the context of an inflationary cosmos. You see according the proponents of the inflationary universe the observable universe much smaller compared the rest of the universe than a proton is compared to the observable universe. A universe of such an unimaginable scale would make processes which appear so extremely improbable happen somewhere. But the down side to this could mean the nearest alien civilization may be beyond the cosmic horizon or more than what it takes the communication signals from that civilization than the current age of the universe. This could rather neatly explain away the Fermi’s paradox. It is not because there are no aliens there are no signals but because they live at such an extraordinarily remote distances the universe is nowhere near old enough as not enough time elapsed in the universe for the communication signals to catch up. The nearest could be trillions of light years away but since the observable universe in only 13.7 billion old that does not give adequate time for the alien radio and light signals to catch up.

no appropriate answer in the poll

there are alliens here. some legal, some illegal.

no, they didnt create us but they DO have much contact with us.

they are mostly found in florida or texas.

There weren't enough options in your poll. What if I believed that Aliens existed, had contact with the earth but didn't create it?

Personally, I think there could be an extra-dimensional wilderness where "animals" that prey upon human beings live. Why do we assume that only intelligent aliens are unseen to us? There could be an invisible jungle of wild creatures that see us as 'food'. Perhaps the 'Vampire' myth
or the 'Alien' series of films or Stephen Kings 'IT' or other similar stories are the universe trying to inform us of these other dimensional psychic parasites in a way that we will understand.

Just an idea.

I wish there were another poll button. I'm between "little to know contact" and "aliens created life on Earth" (the latter seems to imply that aliens created all life on earth, the former implies that they created virtually none." Although I voted middle of the road on this poll, I'm really middle of the road on both of those two questions. I believe that many of us have alien blood from visitors, but it is by no means the be all and end all cause of life on earth.

I didn't read your post before I posted, but you are right. :)

Does anybody on this forum really believe in aliens being the cause of us?
What kind of aliens? I suspect an Ancient Earth evolved species of space animals that resemble the classic saucer ship flying around as a possibility. Little green men all over the place in lazor shooting spaceships co-operating with men in black- no thanks...

This begs the question, where did the aliens come from if they created us? Did other aliens create them and so on...?

Turtles all the way down.

Calyr accept the possibility that others, from another realm, came to Earth many tens of thousands of years ago. Whether or not they interacted with humans or are the missing link for which some scientists still look is debatable. But then, everything in life is debatable. It would be a boring world without debate. :)

It is one of my biggest frustrations in life that there may be all these interesting planets and cultures in the Universe but we will never ever know.
All these amazing religions, different looking beings and everything.
I WANT to see them.

Then see them; dreams are merely someone else's reality, drifting over time and space into your head. Dream them, and believe the ones you wish to believe and reject the ones you wish to reject. That IS religion, after all...other people's dreams and interpretations that are adopted as the beliefs of many. Choose for yourself, rather than let others choose for you.
