Let's talk about Hell

Pegg

Jehovah our God is One
Scripture plainly and irrefutably tells us angels cannot die (Luke 20:35-36).

Jesus is speaking about the heavenly resurrection here...that is called the 'first' resurrection and it is specifically for those who will be joint heirs with Christ in the kingdom of God. These ones are given immortality.

I think it says 'they are like angels' with reference to their gender... not with reference to living or dieing. The context of the verses surrounding it is about marrying and remarrying. The angels are without gender and therefore do not marry and this is going to be the same for those who partake of the 'first' resurrection. In heaven they will not marry like the angels.

And now i'll show you that angels certainly CAN die.

Ultimately, satan and his demons will be put in a "spiritual" prison coined "the lake of fire" where they will be tormented forever (compare Rev 20:10 with Mat 25:41).
“the lake of fire and sulphur” can not be a literal place. Revelation 20:14 says that death itself, along with Hades, is thrown into it. Surely, death and Hades cannot suffer pain because they are not tangible things that exist.
"And death and Ha′des were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire. 15 Furthermore, whoever was not found written in the book of life was hurled into the lake of fire"

So the lake of fire is symbolic of complete destruction. This means that Satan will be completely destroyed forever, eternally. And this is why we read of the final outcome will be as Revelation 21:4, says: “He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be any more. The former things have passed away. ”

This is what I have believed for the past 30 years but recently there has been mention by many that satan will eventually be destroyed.
As I understand scripture there will come a time when there will be no more Humans on the earth so would there in fact be further need or use for satan ?
I have another question re 'spirit '. Since there is spirit (as in man) apart from Holy Spirit (as is God) could that inferior or basic spirit not also be in angels (satan) which could then cease to have an individual presence as would sinful/unconverted man ???

Genesis 2v7 mentions dust of the ground and breath were needed in order for Adam to become a living soul. So both were needed in order to keep Adam's spirit [his spark of life] alive.

When we hear of a high-spirited horse we think of lively or being very much alive. When we hear of school spirit we can think of a pep rally that enlivens school spirit.

Once Adam sinned it was like a fan being unplugged from its source.
Adam slowly wound down until his spirit and breath stopped in death.

Doesn't Hebrews [2v14 B] mention the destruction of Satan by Christ?
Satan is a spirit creation meaning invisible to us, but that is not the same as having the spirit of life. Angelic life is a spirit creation. Human life is a physical creation. Both are created as mortal. Both are not death proof.
Obedience is required in order not to die.
Jesus fulfills the first prophecy at Gen [3v15]. Jesus proves to be the 'seed' that will deal Satan a fatal death bruise to his head. -Romans 16v20.

Humans according to Scripture will always inhabit the earth.
Isaiah [45v18]shows God did not create the earth for nothing but created the earth to be inhabited. Jesus when referring to Psalm 37vs11,29 shows the mild humble meek will inherit the earth. Inherit earth forever according to verse 29.

There is no mention of the 'sheep' of Matt [25v32,46] ever dying but remaining alive right here on earth.
Who remain according to Proverbs 2vs21,22?

Ultimately, satan and his demons will be put in a "spiritual" prison coined "the lake of fire" where they will be tormented forever (compare Rev 20:10 with Mat 25:41). One can conclude they will have no contact with the Spirit beings dwelling in the New Heavens and New Earth. In addition, if satan is destroyed, what would be the difference between his punishment and that of unrepentant physical humans who were given much less power?

Luke 20v35: those resurrected to heaven, according to Rev 20v6, the second death has no power over them. Those resurrected to heaven are the saints or holy ones that rule with Jesus. -Rev 5vs9,10;20v6; Dan 7v18
They are equal to 'faithful' angels because the 'faithful angels' are the ones that are children of God. The 'unfaithful angels' are like the children of the devil at John 8v44.

Satan and his 'unfaithful' angels are: sinners.
According to Romans 6v23 isn't 'death' the price that sin pays?
In other words, all sinners die whether angelic or human.
Those disobedient angels of Noah's day are in chains, so to speak , until judgment day according to Jude verse 9. They are part of those of verse 12 that are: twice dead. Twice dead or the second death of Rev 20v14.

Since the definition of the lake of fire is: second death, and the first death, or the condition of the dead is being in a lifeless, unconscious state then the second death is the same except there is no resurrection from second death.
[Ecc 9v5; Psalm 6v5; 13v3; 115v17; 146v4; John 11vs11-14]

you must be christian, jews know how to read genesis and your trashing it in my opinion. It was never ment to be read literally.

No man lived 900 years and surely not by your analogy of a fan in my opinion

we know genesis is not true in any sense so why would you try and read it like a history book???

Pegg , just read your post # 641 and must say it makes a lot of sense to me. Thank you for your comments on this subject.

URAVIP2ME , thank you too for your contribution. Both your posts were plain and easy to understand .

james2ko , thank you as well but let me say it is no fun to have one's long-standing convictions shattered by new revelations. I am in torment and can not sleep (now 4.30 in the morning on a cold and frosty winter's night in the UK).
I have never been much in agreement in the past with the two posters above but I do appreciate their views in this matter since it fits well with scripture.
We should always bear in mind that we are to grow in grace and knowledge which means to accept new truths - if indeed that is what they are. :rainbow1:

Most Christians read the Bible literally. Why should we read it like Jews when our background and present is so different from them ?

no the jews wrote the many books the OT is made up of. we know its fiction and not ment to be read literally. you need to read it alligorically to make the most out of it according to the jews.

you might have to google that word, it could be over your head.

We know all about Jesus since we accept him

accepting has nothing to do with knowing the real jesus. You can accept santa claus but hes not real.

this thread is about hell not jesus. hell didnt start until the NT and you can see how the term hell evolved from the OT

that is unless your challenging the authority of the OT???? is that what your trying to do??

THERMONUCLEAR HELL FIRE

Hell is deep down in the belly of the earth, is very hot (temperature of the sun), and burns forever. PLUTONIUM/URANIUM are both mined from deep- down in the earth, burning very hot, and giving off dangerous radiation for thousands of years (forever).
The nickname for HADES the Greek God of Hell is “PLUTO” = PLUTONIUM. Jesus referred to HADES as hell itself.
In Greek myths it was “Prometheus” (whose name means “Think-Later” who STOLE this “SACRED-FIRE” from God (Zeus). Once the fire was stolen it opened-up Pandora’s-Box and all the problems of the universe were unleashed upon Mankind.
It is interesting that the sacred-fire was ”STOLEN” because everyone who has it today got it through theft. America STOLE IT from the Germans when Oppenheimer defected, the Russians STOLE IT from the Americans, The Chinese STOLE IT from the Americans and so on.
It is this same Sacred-Fire with which God threatens to destroy the unrepentant earth, in the Bible. The same fire which destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. When the pilot who dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima made the curve to escape the blast, he looked out his side window to see the detonation and resulting FIRE-FLASH, which from the air appeared as a pool of fire upon the ground. On film he was heard to say under his breath “Oh
my God THE LAKE OF FIRE”. This is a quote from the Bible Rev. 20:10). Oppenheimer watching the blast at Los Alamos New Mexico (50 miles from Roswell) quoted the Vedas saying “Lo I am become the destroyer of worlds”. PLUTONIUM from PLUTO, URANIUM from URANUS. The Bible tells of how the Dragon’s-tail drew a third part of the stars (Rev. 12:4) and cast them to earth. It should be interesting to note that the reactor used to alter the atomic weight of the uranium to create weapons-grade plutonium was called “THE DRAGON’S TAIL”.
SECOND DEATH
It is said that at the time of death that all the neurons in the brain fire simultaneously. This is why those who have a “near-death-experience” say that they saw their whole life flash before their
eyes. This is “THE FIRST DEATH”. However during a nuclear-blast among a pool of light-energy, that “ELECTRO-CHEMICAL-ENERGY” (The NEURONS) cannot fire, nor be released or collected. It is lost in the “LAKE-OF-FIRE”. This is the “SECOND-DEATH” the eternal loss of souls. That is exactly why the Gods returned to this age, to COLLECT GENETIC- MATERIAL before the “MASS-EXTINCTION” thus preserving earth’s species and fulfilling the promise of “ETERNAL-LIFE”.

God rules!
There is no eternal torment in hell-fire for man because man is mortal and would quickly burn up (as in any fire) !!!

"For Sheol cannot thank You, Death cannot praise You; Those who go down to the pit cannot hope for Your truth." -Is.38:18:yes:
"the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men." -2Pet.3:7

So where does GOD fit into your claims and credits to yourselves ???
Are you allowing Him to have any say ? You may have missed a very important scripture in Isaiah.:cover:

There have been so many posts about Isaiah regarding this, and it has been clarified so many times how most Christians take on it is incorrect.

Because this dead horse has been flogged way too often on these and other forums.

From Wikipedia:
The book has 66 chapters: the first 39 chapters prophesy doom for a sinful Judah and for all the nations of the world that oppose God, while the last 27 prophesy the restoration of the nation of Israel and a new creation in God's glorious future kingdom;[1] this section includes the Songs of the Suffering Servant, four separate passages originally referring to the nation of Israel, but interpreted by Christians as prefiguring the coming of Jesus Christ.
