Easy way to prove the Earth is at least a million years old

Stars. We've sent satellites out to planets and know their distance based on calculations and now actual evidence from satellite pictures.
Stars can millions of light years away from us. Meaning to see it's light can take a million years. You do see stars out there right?

Doesn't that just prove that stars are millions of years old?

It's called a the "distant star light problem", cdk007 has a series addressing some of the creationist "theories" on the solution.

Not proof at all. When god created everything a few thousand years ago he created the light coming from the stars already on its way and arriving at Earth.

And even the light from supernovae explosions. Meaning that the stars that we see explode never actually existed!:D

What evidence do you have that any stars exist? All we have is light traveling through space. An omnipotent being could have created that light. If “God” did this 6000 years ago there is no reason to believe “God” might not continue doing this. This reasoning applies not only to very distance stars or to stars that have gone supernova, it applies to all the stars. It also applies to the planets, and to the sun, and to the moon (and of course that moon landing was a hoax ;))

So a star that is millions of light years away, has "super enhanced" light speed for us to see it now?

Well, science says that's what they are, as does Genesis. We have science and the Christian religion in complete accord here. What more do you want, a Twinkie?

Indeed!

Hey, I'm telling you true stuff here. Stop with your nosy questions and listen up for crying out loud.

No, No, No, When god created a star he also created enough light so as to stretch to Earth. It's like tying a spool of ribbon to a tree and then unwinding it as you walk over to someone, handing him the end. At that instant both the spool of unwound ribbon and the stretched ribbon co-existed. This was the situation existing when god clapped his hands and the stars came on. And just as the person holding the end of the ribbon pulled on it, continuing to bring more ribbon to himself this is how the stars operate.

Haha awesome. That sounds so ridiculous.
No more ridiculous than . . . . well take your pick, the Bible's full of examples.

What's your point?
we have to accept that fact that yes the universe is billions of years old. Lets look at if from Gods point of view. We are unable to grasp the concept of time as he sees it. A million years to us could be a micro second to God

I do not accept the premise.

there's no such thing as time, imo. if "time" is a concept then it was made up by the mind to represent something else.

there is no future, there is no past. I can't go to either.

I see only one continuous present.

That would make sense if you don't believe in time. So are you always late to work?

Why would an omnipotent God want to go to all of this effort? Seems like a pretty lame prank to me, especially when all He can say at the end of it is: "lolololz I tricked you lolz! NOW BURN!"
