Is it wrong to advocate homosexuality as a sin?

1)After careful study of the Scriptures,
2) I have grown to be an Evangelical Christian for same sex marriage.
3) We cannot judge Christianity on the basis of those who profess to be Christian. I think Gandhi's quote was very wise (see below).

Which of course prompts the following question? (no offense intended)
1) Can we judge Christianity based on you who professes to be a christian ?
2) Can we conclude that others (with different conclusions) calling themselves christians all have not studied the scriptures carefully ?

I certainly don't want you to judge Christianity based on what I post. However, I would hope you would examine what I say in light of the Bible if you believe the Bible contains revelation from God.

I rather doubt that God would have permitted homosexuality if it were a sin.
It is never a sin of choice. It is simply the nature of the people involved.

Many prejudices of men are included in the Bible, this does not make them the Word of God...
It simply puts them into the mouth of God.

This is a fair answer i must say. :)
I do not believe in the Bible as being from God or containing his revelations.

Could you still answer my second question though?

Who says that God have permitted it?:areyoucra The Torah commanded that they be put to death, in the NT matrimony is firmly established as been the union of a man to a woman that is a Holy oath that a man made to a woman and a woman to a man, in the Epistles that are the code of ethic that guide the Christian Church it is clearly establish that they will have to part in the Kingdom of God. The writer of these Epistles were sent by God (Apostles) to write them or dictated them to scribers.

I think it is wrong to advocate homosexuality as a sin. I think it supports and contributes to prejudice against and ignorance of homosexuality. I think spreading the idea, that homosexuality is a sin, is harmful to many, especially gay youths (who are not worldly enough to see past the nonsense).

I want to know what other think about this.

Now, to be clear, I am not questioning the right to spread this nonsense. I understand freedom of expression and its importance. But just because something is lawful that does not mean it is right.

Why exactly? Is it wrong to call anything a sin? It would seem logical that sin is sin, it really doesn't matter what one may think. If it is, then it is. If one believes in a god, then that originator of the Universe certainly has the right to call it like he see it ---- it really isn't an individual's call. GOD may just ask, "Who do you think you are, and why do you imagine your values count for anything."

I understand that is a huge thread and no one expects you to read the whole thing, but I suggest you read at least some of the thread.

"Is it wrong to call anything a sin?"

When it hurts other, yes.

"It would seem logical that sin is sin, it really doesn't matter what one may think."

Blind, thoughtless adherence to a religious text is just downright stupid.

"If one believes in a god, then that originator of the Universe certainly has the right to call it like he see it ---- it really isn't an individual's call."

It certainly is not your place to dictate how "God" feels about homosexuals. You are not "God" nor do you speak for "God"; you have no idea how "God" feels about homosexuals. Maybe He made them for a reason, maybe "God" wants homosexuals around. Homosexuality is common and significant among several different species while homophobia only exist among humans.

Spreading calumnies about homosexuals because you think you know the mind of "God" is not only incredibility egotistical but rather brainless. How about you come up with a real reason to justify your own prejudice instead of abusing God's name.

" GOD may just ask, "Who do you think you are, and why do you imagine your values count for anything."

No, this is just what you are asking and you are just using God's name for effect. But ask yourself the same question: Why do come off acting like you can speak for "God'"? WhoTF are you?

Is it your usual practice to follow the Torah's 613 commandments? No beard? No mixed fibers? No working on Saturday? No BLT?

Or is there some reason you've selected this particular (possible) commandment to follow?

The Torah also commands that idolators be put to death, and that includes anybody who worships a man as god. If you want to invoke the Torah against gay people, you're going to have to quit worshiping Jesus first.

God didn't "call it." the authors did.

The day two boys (or two girls) can have sex together and beget their child, will be the ONLY proof that such sex amounts to anything in the sight of GOD. Until that day it, is most obviously a sin and sin it will remain until that miracle happens.

I know GOD's standard from within HIS Holy Word. I'm not applying my own logic and I certainly do not rely on my feelings.

That's exactly why it's a sin for postmenopausal women to have sex, and Christian couples always separate after the women goes through menopause.

And how did you come to this conclusion. Because you realize there is no logical connection between "results in child being born" and "not being a sin."

I know GOD's standard from within HIS Holy Word. I'm not applying my own logic and I certainly do not rely on my feelings.

Well, first you have to explain how you know His holy word and how you came to that conclusion, but assuming you're referring to the Bible, can you tell me where exactly it PROHIBITS lesbianism?

Last I checked, Jesus, not Paul, was the head of the Church. And the only groups he said bad things about was the money lenders on the temple grounds, and hipocrites. He didn't even shun the prostitute.

JESUS is GOD. Prove me wrong.
Prove yourself right.
