These people who are the epidemy of tolerance desecrate a house of worship. And the weenie cops did nothing.

Pretty soon are we going to police our own churches and keep the freeks of society out because our own law enforcement has left their fortitude in the car?

These freeks gave up their free speech rights when they crossed the line disrupting a group worshipping God according to thier rights under the Constitution.

Ok, first, Zippy, calm down. Throwing insults back at them will accomplish nothing. Second, is this really how the gay community wants to present itself to the rest of us? First we get the revolting add about the LDS Church and then they quite literally invade another church screaming insults.

I don't think I can put my support behind the gay community if this kind of behavior continues. In fact, I think they have lost it completely.

You would lose it too if your civil rights of practicing your religion was taken away. You disturb their lives, time for them to return the favor.

I agree with you. Most gays don't act this way. These people are freeks. They are the lunatic fringe and should be shunned. If they crashed my ward, they might not be leaving in one piece.

Oh yes, an "eye for an eye" is always the most productive way to go about any situation.

Sounds like the protesters were out of line.

I don't think there's much value in lumping all gay people together. Pick any whacky church or religious group you like; should people apply their judgements of them to you as well as part of "the religious community"?

There's a wide spectrum of views and opinions out there. This episode doesn't reflect on anyone except the people who were actually involved in it.

Perhaps, but it seems this kind of low behavior is on the rise. That is very disturbing to me. Lets see if any major Gay activists groups come out and condemn this protest.

Depends Upon My Mood..
No..is said they were a "radical group" and just as in any group/org..your going to have extremeist..They are not helping their cause by doing this..But I do not believe they are representative of the majority of gay people..Im sure it wont be approved of by most..

I think if the account is accurate..They shouldn't have gone inside the church and disrupted the service..I dont have a problem with the picketing on the outside..But they stepped over the line by going inside the church....

What would you do Apex if they showed up to your ward on Sunday and pulled this stunt during a Sacrament Meeting? You hopefully would give them the boot out the door. This is riotous behavior, not a peaceful protest. This is why the cops better take seriosly the disruption of peoples right to worship and live their lives according to the dictates of their own conscience.

Am I getting the general feeling is "When all else fails revert to the lowest level of behavior"?

This is inexcusable. It is not acceptable to interrupt someone else's right to worship, just because you don't like what they preach.

Also, I would hope that they might learn from the example of oppressed minorities in U.S. history - militance never gets you what you want.

I'll be sure to alert the stenographer.

And while such actions as in the OP are clearly wrong and deplorable, isn't this 'de-supporting' a little like refusing to associate with Mormons because of, say, the actions of some of the leadership of the FLDS?

Excuse me. This was the gay community that did this.

All of them?
Some of them?

Or just a handful of people.

What next? All muslims are extremists and the muslims are not doing enough to quiet the extremists. Why aren't the Bonsiaks keeping Al-Qaeda down?

But you have already withdrawn you support. Completely.

How intelligent and principled.

Since you have done that do everyone a favor. Remove yourself from the voting bloc.

Here's a box of tissues.

You mean the right to worship including the religious institutions which do marry homosexuals, call them "married" and yet your religious institution fought hard to abrogate their religious freedom.

There's a term called hypocrite. I recommend you look it up.

Oh yeah.......as one LDS member already told me, here is some advice for all of you.

Grow up.

Just imagine if the civil rights movement lost support from whites due to the existence of the black panthers. Compared to the struggles then, these protests are nothing.

Cowards.

I guess you know how it feels now to have your rights violated.
This is not only violation of a groups rights Heathen, this is disrupting the peace, which is against the law.

Should some radical Christian group barge into your bungalow and tell you "convert or go to hell?" Of course not. Endorsing this type of behavior is inexcusable:knight::yoda:
