Your thoughts on the Afghan burqa (aka chadari)?

Niqab as a face covering seem to get all the attention, but it seems that chadari is almost seemingly forgotten about unless someone's talking about Afghanistan. I'm wondering, and I'll assume that there's face covering supporters here, what my fellow RFers make of the Afghan burqa (chadari)?

I personally deeply admire those women who choose to wear it and think that some of them are actually quite pretty. I would actually like to get one myself but I can't find anywhere to buy them. :(

You can find burqas on Ebay. Do you attend a mosque anywhere? There may be women there who know where to buy them.

My mother was required to cover herself with a chadar (60 years ago) when outside the house (which was not very often since all businesses outside the house were done either by by men or by servants); but in Rajasthan, India, chadar meant only a piece of cloth around the body covering the head.

Salamu alaikum sis I'm a muslimah so I both support hijab and niqab( if there's no forcing involved)

I haven't seen an afghani chadors in the UK or KSA.. I think it's a afghani way of covering. Personally I wouldnt wear that style because it doesnt look practical for when I'm out and about I prefer the abaaya and niqab.

Like buttercup said try to see if you can find one online
