Ultimatum
Classical Liberal
1) Vote to "leave" the EU in a referendum.
2) Vote Leave Ltd. and Leave.eu push for WTO Option of Brexit.
3) Lodge Article 50.
4) "Hur dur we don't need to negotiate, after all, multilateral WTO agreements will keep us safe!"
5) In relation to the EU under WTO rules, UK becomes a third country.
6) UK loses access to EU markets as NTBs/TBTs kick in. (These are omitted as part of the master-plan of the Kipper Option--they are so obssessed with tariffs they can't think of anything else!)
7) UK regulation bodies become invalid to the EU (zilch acquis communautaire)
8) UK has to form MRA and, thus, starts to drift from WTO territory.
9) UK seeks bilateral agreements (as do China, Australia, US, etc.)
10) UK becomes Switzerland--tangles itself up into having to negotiate agreements for every export.
And, thus, the Kipper Option is dismantled.
If only, TBTs didn't exist! But enfortunately, in the real world, these are a problem. The WTO rules sort out tariffs but not trade barriers.
And all along, we could have just taken the Norway+ Option and continued to enjoy the Single Market and easy exports.
Either way, Mr. Cameron will present a British model of associated membership, so we're going to be stuck to this rotting corpse for the rest of our lives.
Still, its good fun having a go at Ukip.
