THE TRUE BELIEVERS WORSHIP REGULARLY AND EXERCISE MORALS
Allah the Exalted has asked the believers to pay much attention to exercise high morals because without them, the one who claims to have faith, cannot be a believer. There is indication of a believer is that he not only offers worships, he avoids vain things too. It is not possible that a person is a believer, and at the same time he commits immoralities too. Usually a person becomes immoral when he has arrogance. That is why Allah the Exalted says about ‘Servants-of-Rahman’: “………yamshoona alalarzey honan” (Holy Quran, ch25:v64). They walk on the earth with extreme humbleness.

The person who has humbleness, he avoids conflicts and clashes, he is inclined towards peace-making, and he possesses other high morals too. His act of keeping the pleasure of Allah the Exalted in view, along with practicing high morals, and also his attempts to pay right of Allah’s worship, such are the conditions of true a believer………..In short, the true believer is Abid and Ajiz (worshiper and humble).

Yes, it is true too that every person has different capacities. They have different bodily conditions, and they face different temporary states, which become hindrances. Therefore, not everyone can keep their standards of morals at same level all the times, in all conditions………..Similarly, they cannot maintain such levels of their Salaat-s and worships for their spiritual progress, which are expected from a believer.

PERMISSIONS AND EASES FOR SALAAT
That is why Allah the Exalted has provided permissions according to the situations of believers. He does not put burden on human more than his capacity and condition. Therefore, at least for Religion Islam it cannot be said that it ask to do things which are impossible to do.

Allah the Exalted commands that offering Salaat-s is obligations, and at the same time He granted many eases for it. For example, if someone cannot offer Salaat in standing posture for some reason, he is allowed to offer Salaat in sitting position. If one cannot offer Salaat in sitting position due to ailment and weakness, he is permitted to say Salaat in reclining position. There is no restriction to lie in any certain way.

During travel, or any having temporary restriction, one can shorten (qasr) or combine two Salaat-s (jama) as per rules. Thus no one with any constraint, can say that It is impossible for him to offer Salaat.

Those people who have jobs where their clothes apparently get unclean, it is instruction for them that if they do not have clean clothes, whatever they are wearing, they should offer Salaat.

Likewise, if water is unavailable, they should perform ‘tayammam’ instead of ‘wudhu’ [patting hands at clean dusty surface and pass over back of each hands, and then pass over face -- as token ablution]…… A wise person can understand that it is always possible to offer Salaat. To offer Salaat is compulsory as long as one is in senses. Thus, it is very wrong to say that Salaat is impossible to offer in certain condition…..When some people are asked about Salaat, they present excuses. Such people drift away from Eman (faith) by making such excuses…..Thus each of us should pay attention for this matter.

REMINDER TO BELIEVERS WORKS – SALAAT IS LIFE LONG – IMPORTANCE OF WORSHIP IN YOUTHFUL DAYS – ROLE OF JAMA'AT’s AUXILIARIES
Hazrat Khalifa tul Messiah (may Allah be his Helper) further said that After his inaugural Friday sermon at Maryam Mosque Ireland, in which he asked Jama'at to pay attentions to these matters, a Murabi sahib [an appointed religious clergy who oversees morals and spirituality] from America wrote (and same reports came from other places) that attendance in mosques has been increased after this Sermon……It proves that, not coming to mosques was not due to any limitation or due to impracticality, but it was due to laziness…. When attention were drawn, it produced effects. Now these positive effects should be preserved.

It is the quality of believers When they are reminded, they act. Khuddam ul Ahmadiyya [auxiliary of Ahmadiyya Jama'at for men under 40] and Lajna [Jama'at’s auxiliary for women] should especially make efforts to remind young people to offer Salaat regularly. This young phase in life has better health and the rights of worships can be paid…… Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) has especially drawn our attention to it that worships in youth and health can be offered with proper rights; in old age various ailments render difficulties.

In short, one should ponder that one should fulfill the obligations made by God the Exalted, even if one has to compel oneself. Far to think, not paying these rights despite having facilities. Allah the Exalted has granted health, it is necessary to pay His right by thanking for grant of health. And this right is paid through worship, the Salaat. We need to pay lot of attention to it. Our faith cannot be completed without it.

Now the other matter i.e.

GOOD MORALS
Those, who has high morals, one of their great quality is to state truth and to remain firm on truth. The quality of a believer is that he should always be at truth and never wander around lie. It is possible only when one hates lie. But what we see in the world practically, people get support from lie on various occasions. Some people say that they did not intend to lie but it was spoken by mistake. For example, they apply for asylum here, and latter say, they said something by mistake, which they did not intend………..If one does not have habit, one does not speak wrong by mistake.

Allah the Exalted forgives those who realize their mistake. In this situation, they have to state their regret too. But, if one speaks lie and have no regret, and does not try to make compensation to the hurt party BUT On the contrary, being stubborn, he tries to prove lie as truth, or he says that This lie was necessary. Such a person is neither having Eman / faith, nor he can be called to have good morals. Certainly, such person should realize that he is not on right path.

Allah the Exalted says about morals that “…..wa qulu linnaasey husnaa…..” (2:84) Speak with and treat people with kindness and in good way.

Usually people do not speak harshly with others. Even though, some people are instinctively severe and angry but they do not display it normally. So when Allah the Exalted commands to speak and deal with people with kindness and softness, He addresses to these people to change their strict nature and to be soft; you should never say anything which hurt others. Do not be ‘maghdhub ul ghadhab’ (over taken by anger) on little things.

But, some people, due to their make (as people have different constitutions) suddenly get flared up. If such people should feel remorse after saying harsh words, and try to compensate the emotional or other hurt, which they have had inflicted on others, and do Tauba (return to God, repentance) and do Istighfaar (seek divine cover and help), then Allah the Exalted says I have kept open the door of Tauba open, and their Tauba is accepted.

Those who do not pay attention to this directive of Allah the Exalted, and who continue to do un-rightful brutality and severity, and who do not feel any kind of remorse, these are the people who are falling from morals and they are becoming sinful by denying a directive of Allah the Exalted. Worships offered by such people do not give them any benefit.

Allah the Exalted gives hope for Mughferat (forgiveness, cover, help) to those people, who do misdeed under a particular excitement and anger. But latter they feel sorrow and shame for their misdeed, when they regain senses, and they try to make compensation…..But the one who is not regretful even after coming into senses, and do not say sorry, he cannot present any excuse before Allah the Exalted. Thus, we should make self checks.

Huzur (a.t.) said, many matters come into his attention, like problems related to husband and wife, business dealings. In this regard, some people are so much self defeated by their own rage that they do not realize what they are saying or doing. Some inflict emotional pain to women, some hit them. Similarly, there are other matters, like practicing bad mutual behaviors. In these cases, above all, these people do not try to understand. If Correctional-Committee or Qadha (inter-Jama'at-religious-court) attempt, these people continue to stick to their say. When some of them is treated with disciplinary action, then they get in some sense, and then they write for forgiveness, and try to compensate for the excesses they committed….True, such people save their end by getting pardon after penalty, but they get a stain of chastisement. Had they not made encircled themselves in their ego, they would have resolved matters with reconciliation….Thus such people should try to save their Faith…. Yet, there are some who do not understand in any way, and fully drift away.

The worldly life, its provisions and its benefits are for few counted days. We should be mindful of our end so that could we get blessings of Allah the Exalted.

RAISE MORAL STANDARDS
Huzur (a.t.) said that From time to time, he draws attention of Jama'at that we should raise our moral standards. And we should not get ourselves entangled in the net of egos over tiny matters. Every person of Jama'at should try to become a Standard of Moral and Humanity. No doubt, sometimes we verbalize our passions, we get angry, it is human nature, BUT a believer has been given some directives by Allah the Exalted, we need to control our emotions, and use them according to the Will of Allah the Exalted.

IMPROVE MATRIMONIAL TIES
Example of husband-wife-matters has been mentioned earlier. Please see How Allah the Exalted has given various directives with respect to Taqwa (righteousness), in the Quranic verses which are read in Nikah-Sermon (matrimonial sermon). Both, husband and wife are obliged to act on these commandments. But many people do not keep these matters in view. They think, Nikah is done, marriage has taken place, and that is it……. When problem arise, they insist on their words and they are proud of their attitude for belittling someone, they think their passions are correct, they do not care about others’ emotions, they claim their thoughts and actions are right and it was the only right cure for other person.

If claim of such people is accepted, it means that the religion they have believed in, is false because their religion is saying different than what they say.….. At maximum, they can say This directive of religion is such that they find difficult to practice it. But to say that Without breaking this commandment, and without doing what we did, living was not possible, it is equal to say their religion is false.

SUPPRESS ANGER
Allah the Exalted commands:
= to suppress the anger,
= to treat others with good morals,
= do not insist on your mistakes,
= to strive to pay rights of people.
Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) has said to the extent that Whoever does not pay rights of people, does not present his model according to the morals taught by God the Exalted which a believer must adopt, Such people do not pay right of God the Exalted too; their Salaat-s and worships are only for show off because these worships have not produced that change in them, which is the quality of a believer; that humbleness has not developed in them, which can bring the nearness of God the Exalted for them.

VIDEO OF AN ANGRY PERSON CAN TEACH HIM WELL

If one let a video to be made of himself (these days videos are available easily everywhere) when he is angry. A wise person when he will have come in senses will be ashamed when he will see the video what was his condition during rage.

WORDS OF WISDOM OF PROMISED MESSIAH (A.S.) ABOUT ANGER
Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) has given us advices about the matters that what becomes the state of people who are over run by their anger, their brain become empty of understanding and wisdom. Sometimes they reach to state of insanity. When vehemence and anger increase, understanding dies. That is why attention is drawn towards patience because faculties of understanding and thoughtfulness increase with patience.

== He (a.s.) says:
Remember there is dangerous animosity between understanding and vehemence. When vehemence and anger is developed, understanding cannot stay. But, the one who exercises patience, and show model of forbearance, he is given a Light, with which a new light is developed in his faculties of understanding and thoughtfulness. And then Light is born from Light. During the state of anger and vehemence, heart and mind become dark, therefore, then, darkness is born of darkness.

== He (a.s.) says about people who get angry for little things:
Their heart becomes empty of wisdom…… Remember, the one who exercises severity and becomes rage-full, his tongue can never utter knowledge and words of wisdom. That heart is made to deprive of words of wisdom, which gets angry quickly in front of his opponent and gets out of control. The lips of foul-mouthed and unbridled are made to deprive of the spring of fine-understanding. Rage and wisdom cannot stay together. The one who is defeated by anger, his understanding is dull and intellect is less. He is never granted dominance and victory in any field. Rage is half madness. When it is flared up, it can become full madness.

==Then he (a.s.) says:
Two powers take human towards madness, one is ill-assumption and other is rage, when they become excessive. Thus, it is essential that human should avoid ill-assumption and rage.

HOW A BELIEVER SHOULD BE
He (a.s.) defines that believer should never lose understating and wisdom from hand. He says:
Man should use his faculties at proper and Halal occasion e.g. there is a power of rage, when it is more than normal, it becomes forerunner of madness. There is very little difference between madness and it. The man who is very rage-full, he is made deprived of spring of wisdom. One should not speak to opponent in the state of ‘overrun by anger’.

== Then he (a.s.) tells the sign of believer, that how he should have control over anger. A true believer should have control over anger. He (a.s.) said:

“….walkaazemin al gheza wal aafina anninnase….” (3:135) i.e. believers are those who consume anger and treat people with forgiveness and overlook. Although teaching of forgiveness and overlook exists in Gospel too, but it is limited to Jews. Hazrat Esa (Jesus, a.s.) did not keep any link of his kindness with others. And clearly said, Except sons of Israel, I have nothing to do with others, whether they drown or get salvation.

PROMISED MESSIAH (A.S.) FOR WHOLE WORLD
Hazrat Khalifah tul Messiah Mahdi (a.t.) says: Thus forgiveness and overlook of Hazrat Messiah [Jesus] was limited to Jews. But Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.) who has come as Messiah-of-Muhammad (s.a.w.), his reach and forgives is extended to the whole world. Hence, we need to make more enhancement in our forgiveness and overlook, too.

HIS KHALIFAH (A.T.) EXPLAINS PATIENCE, FORBEARANCE AND TENDERNESS IS NEEDED

These are the standards, we should try to achieve. If we have to get blessing from Light of Allah the Exalted, we need to develop the qualities of patience, forbearance and tenderness in ourselves.

If we desire Words of knowledge and wisdom are uttered from our mouths, and people are drawn towards us, and we take mission of Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) forward, We shall have to save ourselves from being in state of severity and rage in our domestic and daily matters.

If we want to never let our mental faculties and capacities get destroyed, We shall have to save ourselves from indulging in ill-assumptions and rage.

If we want to be real momin / believer, we should use our capacities properly at right occasion.

If state of anger arises, it should not be as madness, but it should be only for corrective purpose.

Expression of rage and uncontrolled emotion makes a person mad. Moderation is needed for these. If there is anger, it should be limited only for corrective measure, not to satisfy personal egos, and not to show self-greatness. He (on whom be peace) said, whoever shows anger more than that, he wastes his Eman (Faith). He (a.s.) said that It is the beauty of Islam that It commands, by pointing towards high morals, to suppress unnecessary anger and exercise forgiveness…..Thus there is much need that everyone should possess this moral because without it, it is very difficult to become a true believer.

Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) has repeated mentioned in various Writings and Sayings that Passions should be under control………But there is weakness in ourselves that we do not practice it as it ought to be. It includes common Ahmadis and Offices holders too.

There are people who tell others about the Sayings of Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) and command them to keep passions under control, but for themselves, they forget that Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) has said Choose to be humble like a liar would be, even if your are truthful.

It has been observed that some people, being false and being oppressor, try to prove that they are indeed truthful and oppressed. Can it be understood that they carry iota of Eman / faith? Eman requires that, after coming in senses, they should make compensation for their oppression, if they have hurt someone emotion-wise, they should try to recompense, at least they should feel remorse in them for what they have done!

SELF-CHECK, IF OPPRESSION DONE, COMPENSATE AND FEEL REMORSE

We should make a check that how many are there among us, who think like this? If one has committed some oppression due to temporary boil, Then after this time has passed, a believer should make compensation. If this compensation is not made, and remorse is not felt, and all episode has passed by and there is no effect felt, then, as Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) said, the real Eman does not exist in the doer, his apparent Eman is for show-off. It is like water bubble, which has layer of water outside but inside there is only air. If there was all water, it should have been in state of all water without air.

We need to check ourselves to see, How many times we have shown forbearance when others have done wrong to us but we did not answer back by getting over run by rage. Or if one is office-holder, check how many times he gave decisions fulfilling justice when a person is involved who previously has inflicted excess upon the office-holder?

WHAT IS TRUE FORBEARANCE
Forbearance does not mean that when opponent is powerful, one does not answer back, and declare it as great forbearance…. Forbearance means, one is capable to give punishment but choose not to give.

It should be clear here that if administration of Jama'at recommends disciplinary action against someone by fulfilling conditions of justice and Shariah, it does not fall in the category of forbearance. In such case, forgiving someone’s mistake would become sin.

If one mishandles his matters; commits oppression, Chief or Judge announces chastisement, as parents or teachers do to children……… The disciplinary action is taken when a directive of Shariah is violated, or rights of others are usurped.

DUTY BOUNDED

The matter of disciplinary action is necessary to be explained. Some people do excess with others, they do not keep regard of rules of Shariah, they usurp others’ rights. When Jama'at ‘s system takes disciplinary action, these people begin to write to Hazrat Khalifa tul Messiah (a.t.) that since he has delivered sermon about forgiveness and overlooking, they should be pardoned too….Huzur (a.t.) explained that He has many times said that he has no personal animosity against anyone. Some people write him letters full of name-callings, he has never felt rage against them too, never emotions of anger have developed in him for them. Such people do not write their names or they do write fictitious names. Even if they write their true name, Huzur (a.t.) gave them assurance that there will be not action taken against them in this matter, they may call names. Yes, I feel mercy for them, Huzur (a.t.) said; he does more Istighfaar (divine cover, help); it is beneficial for him…….Chastisement or disciplinary action is taken when one usurps others’ right or disobey directive of Shariah, and it is issued with very sad heart, not with joy…..Huzur (a.t.) said the day when he finds in his mail that Nazarat Omur Amah [department of overseeing common affairs] or a Country-Amir has recommend forgiveness to end the disciplinary action against some one, after when the mistake is compensated, that day is the most happy day in his life…..Thus please do not force me to do against my duty, about which I am bound.

BE LENIENT IN GETTING RIGHT

Huzur (a.t.) further said: I would also surely say that when both parties bring their matters in Qadha, and Qadha or administration reach at any decision in the light of events, and responsibility is placed on one party to pay rights, or to pay the money in case of financial matter, or to pay other responsibilities, then the party which has to receive the money / right, it should consider the financial condition of paying party, if they have difficulties, they should give the maximum possible ease for payment. There, stubbornness should not be shown. It is the directive of Allah the Exalted and His Messenger that oppression should not be done for no reason just to fulfill personal ego.

THE REASON FOR NAME MESSIAH FOR PROMISED MESSIAH (A.S.) - GENTLENESS

In short, we should always be thankful to Allah the Exalted for this matter and should realize that we are the followers of The Person whose has been given the name Messiah. It is to be pondered Why he is also called Messiah? What made (previous) Messiah distinctive from other Prophets.

No doubt, Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) possessed all qualities more that all Prophets; he reached to the acme of those qualities because he was The Perfect Human with The Perfect Shariah………Lower to that, there is something in every Prophet, which gives him distinction compared to other Prophets.

Peace be upon you.
CONTINUES
The presence of a distinction in the previous Messiah is the reason why (Ahmadiyya) Promised Messiah has similarity with previous Messiah… Hazrat Musleh Mo’ud (r.a.) has explained it in manner which captivates heart: The distinction of Hazrat Messiah (on whom be peace) is the teaching of gentleness which Hazrat Messiah presented and The Bible tells to the extent Do not contend with mischievous, but if one slaps on your right cheek, turn the second towards him. If one likes to file case against you to get your shirt, let him take the cloak. If one takes you to one mile as forced-labour, go with him for two miles. No doubts, all Prophets have given teaching of gentleness, but Hazrat Messiah has stressed very much on the gentleness, according to the circumstances of his era. Thus, this is the special teaching brought by Hazrat Messiah. When Allah the Exalted gave the name ‘Messiah’ to Hazrat Promised Messiah or liken him with Messiah, it means that he [The Promised Messiah (a.s.)], too, has been directed to give teaching of gentleness….Though ‘Messiah’ is the name given to him because he came to guide Christians too, and was called ‘Messiah’ in this respect. He came to guide other religions too. Having come for Hindus, he was given the name ‘Kirishan’….. Similarly he, in obedience and in command of Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him), came for Muslims and for all nations of the world.

REVOLUTION IN SELF IS NEEDED FOR NEW LIFE - CHANGE

In short, stress is on the name ‘Messiah’, that is why Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) has taught gentleness very much and has advised to remove rigidity. He (on whom be peace) mentions in his writing:

God wants A complete revolution should come at your being and he wants a death [a metaphor] upon you, after which he will make you alive. You should make peace mutually soon and forgive sins of your brothers because mischievous is that human who is not pleased to make peace with his brother. He will be cut, because he sows dissension. You leave your selfishness from every angle and give up mutual displeasure, and be meek as a liar would be, even if you are right so that you are forgiven, leave fatness of selfishness because a fat person cannot enter the door from which you are called.

Hazrat Khalifa tul Messiah (a.t.) explains: If we do not keep in view this quality, it would mean we deceive the world, if we ourselves do not practice this teaching What right do we have to call others to this. So we need much to reform ourselves. We need to present such a model before the world, that the world see that we have fully gained controlled on our emotions…..I have said on the occasion of inauguration of mosque in Ireland that When we shall do Tabligh (convey message) people will ask, You say about other Muslims that they did not accept Promised Messiah (a.s.) that is why they are vacant of guidance, But you have accepted Promised Messiah (on whom be peace), What revolution you have brought into your selves?

Thus our models should be matching to our education. All of the believers of other religions, do not act lesser than morals. We should ponder, Do all Christians, all Hindus or all Believers of other religions, or All non-believers too keep doing fights? There are many peace-makers and justice-lovers in them too……..Keeping it in mind, If among us, some are peace-makers and some are fighters or commit below-moral deeds then what would be the distinction between us and others?

The distinction will be only then, when by acting on this teaching, habit of clashes and dissension will be fully vanished from us, or at least it should become so rare that it is not seen by anyone. If there will be few discord-makers left, we shall be disliking them fully.

THREE POSSIBLE WAYS TO ERADICATE EVIL (off course by not taking the law in hands)

To eradicate evil, there is a Saying of Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him): If you see an evil, and if you have the capacity, erase it with hand. If you cannot erase it with hand, stop it with tongue. If you do not even have such power then feel it bad in heart. ………………….. Thus in Ahmadiyya society too, there should be feeling to stop, to advise against or at least feel bad about wrong deeds and immoralities. When everybody has this realization then even the few ones do not fall from morals, and everybody tries to raise his standard. We should not support any oppressor.

ADOPT FORGIVENESS, GENTLENESS, OVERLOOKING AND LOVE – ROLE OF SOCIETY

We should adopt the method, which is taught to us by Allah the Exalted and His Messenger; and for this method, in this age, Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) has especially placed stressed. The method is We should use forgiveness, gentleness, overlooking and love. If we see someone (Ahmadiyya Muslim) doing oppression, consider he has not attacked the oppressed, he has attacked on us. More than that, consider that he has attacked on Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) because he has tried to belittle the mission for which he (a.s.) was sent. Our duty is to stop such attackers (within permissions); if we cannot stop with hand, stop with tongue or feel bad in heart. And pray for oppressed for his safety from oppressor.

If we feel bad about anti-moral deeds, and the society feel bad too, these evil deeds will be automatically finished in us. But, it is seen that sometimes, mother, father, sisters and brothers get involved in matrimonial matters especially. Not only they get involved, some other people, too, get involved on the name of friendship -- instead of giving advice.

Thus for the correction of society, instead of taking part in these oppressions, we should consider the attack done against the oppressed person as attack tried upon Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace). If it happens so, then see how fast our society will be reformed, and our these attitudes and deeds will be fulfilling the purpose of Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace).

May Allah enable us that With offering worships, we establish and help to establish, the models of high morals. We should not be causing bad name to Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) by getting involved in discords and clashes. May Allah save us from all kinds of selfishness. [Aameen]
