Will-Power, Knowledge and Ability to Practice – Essentials for Practical Reformation.

DawudTalut

Peace be upon you.
Peace be on you…In addition to reform the beliefs, the reformation in practice is the purpose of advent of Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) [The latter days’ promised reformer]. He came to remind human how they can connect to God and how they can pay rights to other human. He said: Remember! just wordiness and talks do not work if practice in not there…..Make your emaan [faith] weighty. Practice is the ornament of faith. If practical condition is incorrect it means lack of faith.

His fifth, current, Successor, Hazrat Khalifa tul Messiah V (may Allah be his Helper) explains that if members of Ahmadiyya Community want to be helpful in the mission of Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.), they have to overcome their obstacles in acheiving practical reformation. This self practical reformation will attract others’ attention too. We have no worldly objectives to dominate others. We desire that the world understand and accept the message of Allah and Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him)..But if our own practical condition is not good and firm why would others hear us? Our pious life style should impress others so that they accept message of practical reformations to pay rights of God. To achieve our purpose, we shall have to impose some rules and restrictions upon us with sacrifices.

World has become global village. Electronic media is taking the good and bad events from far dstances into homes. Ratio of spread of bad is more than good. Standard of good and evil are changed. A matter which is believed to be evil in an Islamic society, it is considered as norm (even as goodness) in worldly atheist society…… For example, once dance was not considered good in the West. Then it became acceptable for men and woman to dance by holding hands... Latter physical distance became shorter and shorter alongwith lesser dress.….Now it has spread…Internet etc has taken it into homes…Muslim societies are in its grip too…..Ahmadiyya Muslims should fully avoid it.

Why an evil spreads even though people speak againt it? The answer is ‘steadfastness of advocates of evil’……..The moral reformers have to think, plan, sacrifice, pray, identify and eliminate weaknesses to get success.

The basics to achieve success in moral reformation depends on:
1- Will-Power.
2- Correct and complete knowledge. [it affects #1 and #3]
3- Power to Practice.

Will-Power of Jama'at is very strong; they want to have righteousness / Taqwa, publication of true Islamic directives, love and nearness of Allah. This strength of Will-Power has to be fully translated into Power to Practice.

A weak devotion to God does not let Will-Power to convert into Power to Practice…….It is like a weak brain, due to which, a student does not full understand the lesson. For such students, special techniques are used.

A weak knowledge also obstructs Power to pratice. Thus it is essential to enhance knowledge for proper implementation.

Knoweldge works well if person has good sense of comparison. It helps one to determine the amount of strength required to struggle for reformation, avoid sin, speak truth and to present good role model for children.

One has to avoid wrong comparison too. For example, do not consider a sin or virtue bigger than other. What is difficult to avoid or to do is actually bigger.

Weakness in strength-to-implement may have become rusty due to lack of use. In that case one can overcome it by strong intention….. But if this strength has already become like life-less, then external help will be required to cure that weakness. In such case auxiliaries of Jama'at shall have to play their reformatory role.

Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) said that Allah the Exalted wants reformation and to expend the energy is the way of faith. [so attention remain to do everything to seek His pleasure]….You should show practical example, it should have brilliance so that other may accept it….If you do not have high morals you cannot have any station.

To achieve reformation of practice, continuous hard work is needed by Ahmadiyya Muslims so that they become true Muslims in accordance with the wishes of Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace; the promised ardent devotee of Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be on him).

Huzur (a.t.) mentioned the virtues of a pious faithful from Qadian, India who served faith for 48 years. He was devout person who continued to call towards Allah the Exalted with courage and He showed His special support for him too.
