Hi, Glasgowchick, I prayed for you and your daughter, and will try to remember you in my future prayers as well. I pray she gets better, that she grows out of the asthma, some of my children had a touch of it when they were very little. I pray you get good news, and she responds well and gets all better. I pray that you and your daughter feel the comfort of God around you, for he cares for you deeply. God bless you and be with you. I know you don't KNOW me, but I wanted you to know that people love you and are praying for you.
Sincerely,
Joeboonda

I am so sorry she is still not responding; it must be an awful time for you and your husband. As you know, you are all in my prayers, and I hope to see you on-line again soon with some cheerful news...........;)

Chick,

I will definitely keep your daughter in my prayers. As a mother, I can appreciate how terribly difficult it is to see your child suffer. Just know we all care very much.

Hi to you all and thanks ever so much for all of your prayers...I thought I would just pop on and let you know how she is doing..We had her at Hospital yesterday at the respitory clinic, They don't seem to think it is asthma that Laura has. They did a chest xray which was clear [ Thank God ] They did a ECG, but will be a while for the results, also did blood tests which I also have to wait for the results. She has to go for a lung test in the next couple of weeks. So I am not any futher forward till the results come back. The Doctors have kept her on the inhalers but have taken her off the oral steriods..She is still breathless but the wheezing seems to have subsided for now. I am really worried and hope they will find an answer for us soon All of your prayers are greatly apprieciated Thanks ever so much..Blessings Jackie..

I'll be praying for Laura, Jackie, and you as well. *huge hugs* Asthma can be so very scary, and it must be doubly so in one's child having it.

Oh dear, still no answer.........To be frank, I am pleased for her sake Laura is off the steroids.

This may sound absurd, but have you tried oil of eucalyptus in a steam kettle ? It certainly can't do any harm.............

I'll be thinking of you both, and prayers for your health.......

God Bless,
Michel;)

Jackie, I am so sorry they haven't yet found out what is going on with Laura. The "not knowing what the problem is" is truly stressful. I will continue to pray for you and Laura and hope you get some good news soon. Thank you for keeping us posted.

Hi OT, Hi Michel, thankyou both again for your concerns for Laura, Thankfully she has picked up a good bit over the weekend [ yesterday and today ] she is still a wee bit puffed out but I guess that could be down to lack of exercise over the last 5 weeks or so, Still waiting for the results of all the tests but I will keep you posted, until then please keep her in your prayers..Michel I am too glad that they have taken her off the steriods, 8 per day for a nine year old seemed a lot, she was on maximum dose of everything, inhalers ect. Haven't tried the oil stuff but It wouldnt do any harm as you say..Thankyou Love to you both Jackie

Glad to hear she's feeling better, Glasgowchick. Five weeks on steroids would explain the puffiness.

Have you had a consultation with an actual pulmonologist? For serious cases, which this sounds to be, a specialist can be very helpful.

Hi Seyorni, thankyou also for your concern, Laura was on steriods for 13 days only, but she was also taking steriod inhalers [ she still is on the inhalers ] I guess they will continue to treat her for asthma until they find out what is wrong with her, Yes she is being seen by the respitory doctors at the hospital for sick children, she has to go for some kind of lung test ? still waiting for the appointment tho..Thanks again Jackie..
