What would happen if any religion were right?

Smoke

Done here.
This is like ordering a pepperoni pizza, then asking them to hold the pepperoni, hold the cheese, hold the sauce, and hold the dough.

How delicious would that pizza be?
For me, ritual is the fun part of religion. Notice I didn't say anything about doing away with that. :)

What would happen if there were a religion that was really right?

Imagine a religion that made no unsubstantiated truth claims, that was accessible and verifiable to all, and really had the power to transform its adherents into mindful, compassionate people.

How would people react to such a religion?

By definition all religions are "right" to their practitioners. Since religion is a private matter, is really doesn't matter what other people think aout the veracity of your own religion.
