Good answer! If only all people could have that attitude toward other people's sexuality. (Are you listening George Bush?)Maize said:Don't know.... don't care.
Maize said:Well, if we really want to discuss this seriously, I would make a case for him being asexual, or just not concerned with sex. Gerani, like in the Hindu teaching, when someone reaches Liberation, they no longer have the worldly desires they once had. I think Jesus would be a good example of a person who had reached Liberation. What do you think?
You think he went out with Mary Magdalene? Could you provide proof please?Gerani1248 said:ahah. rite totaly.
i think jesus was straight. i think he went out with mary magdalene too. afterall, he was the perfect man, and thus had to experience all life through they eyes or a regular man. if he didnt get married, that would have been pretty wierd for his time. he also could have been asexual. but i doubt that, even though God is beyond sex, jesus was a man.
Thomas Edison was a hero. George Washington was a hero. People like Charles Lindenburgh were heroes. All of them loved someone or the other. Love is an expression of a person's values. Why is love a distraction?Gerani1248 said:the christ figure followed the hero quest architype. many heros, are so headstrong on thier mission, they do not love or have sex with a woman (or a man) as a partner, because they dont want to deviate or be distracted.
hero's also have a flaw. they over come this flaw to achieve what they want. they also have a unique ability.
who follows the hero quest architype? jesus and many other story heros.
james bond is not cuz he loves woman and has no character flaw, hes just a swift, smooth action secret agent.
and austin powers is a parody of the architype.
odyseus follows the architype.
Gerani, are you refering to Campbell's thesis in his book, The Hero With A Thousand Faces?Gerani1248 said:im talking about literature. if you look into literature, theres a certain architype of a hero. this type of hero is immortalized in all cultures. im not talking about war veterans or such. i talking about stories, legends, literature, mythology.
