What have I done?
'69 First job! (Only 12). I started my career in automotive, first sweeping floors and washing parts. I had been helping for over a year by taking off parts in their junkyard. The junkyard was replaced by a Winn Dixie and a Mobil Gas station and he put me to work for pay. I worked here until 75, except for the summer of 72
Summer of 72 Worked for IFAS (Institute of Food and Agricultural Services) a branch of UF. I started out as a field worker and ended up as a lab rat. Fun summer!
75-80 UF Student
76 (Summer and Christmas break) Robinson's in the "Young Sophisticates" department. I sold men's clothing to yuppies.
77-78 Lab Tech in a Cryogenics P-Chem labratory. I worked on a super-con magnet.
78-80 Apprectice Machinist in the Chemistry Machine Shop.
80 Food Services, driving Meals on Wheels for the elderly
81 Mechanic for Taylor Rental. I fixed just about EVERYTHING.
81-82 Manager for the Student Machine Shop and Structures Lab for the College of Architecture, UF. Taught Welding, Machining, Soils Testing, Structural Testing and Statics (sans Calculus) to Architecture Students. This was my 2nd most fun job.
83 Manager for Fifth Gear Auto Parts
83 Machinist for Lab Sciences. I built lab equipment for Engineering Schools.
84-85 My first Business: AutoTech. Back to working on cars, but for me this time.
85 Back to Orlando. I worked as an automotive Tech for "Xpert Tune", Norman Brothers Nissan, and as a Parts Manager for Mixon Auto Supply.
85-99 My longest Job. Mechanic and Service Manager for Goodyear Auto Service Centers. I worked at 6 of their locations.
99-03 NetDoc Inc. Network Consultant: The Doctor for your Network is "in".
01-?? NAUI Scuba Instructor
02-?? ScubaBoard.com. I own and manage the World's Largest Website for all things Scuba. This is my dream job and I love it.
That's about the best I can remember.
Edit: Oh yeah... I was also a paper boy in Junior High School and then when I worked for the College of Architecture. During the latter, I would deliver to just my apartment complex and it was my morning run. I wore these bright green running shorts, bright white leather tennis shoes and a shoulder bag, prompting one of my room mates to dub me the "Cosmic Johnny Appleseed". Going up all those flights of stairs every day was GREAT exercise, but it ruined my knees.
