That's wonderful! Perhaps I should make an altar. Hey, Carlita, what do you keep on your altar?

I turned around my family's for safety and privacy sake. My grandmother's memorial is in thirteen days. I need to give her a card and flowers. You can also start working on your family geneology as a way to connect with your ancestors too. That's the book on the side.

Peace be upon you.
...... a habit of thanking god for the food he eats every morning, noon, and day. .....
Peace be on you.
Some Muslim prayers on various occasions:

Holy Prophet (sa) has said:
==When you begin to eat, pronounce the name of Allah the Exalted:
bismillahi wa ‘ala barakatillah
(In the name of Allah, and with the blessings of Allah)

==When you finish eating recite the prayer:
alhamdu lillahilladhi at‘amana wa saqana wa ja‘alana muslimin
(All praise be to Allah who has given us food and drink and made us Muslims).

==In general, when Muslims undertake any activity, they always start it with the name of Allah, saying:
bismilla hirrahma nirrahim
(With the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful)

==When Muslims terminate an activity, they say:
alhamdu lillah
(Praise be to Allah)

after showering each day I smudge with white sage. I say a quiet word of thanks before eating to whatever gave its life or supplied what I am eating. I acknowledge sunrise, sunset, clouds, winds, storms, the wild critters and so on when I encounter them, even my computer and car and the like when I use them. I chant (hate to call it "singing"), dance, make music when I can. Little things, all though the day.
