Would be interesting to see the American reaction if COVAX cracks the problems first and is distributing vaccines while trump has egg on his face again.

Both articles appeared factual, although i have not fact checked them, they agree with what i have heard on both British and French news programs.

I think the interesting point that Gavi (and Bill Gates, actually) argue about equal access is that because this is a global pandemic you will never get it properly under control until everyone in the world has some resistance to it. Trying to do it for your own country in isolation is a Canute-like exercise because you will constantly be re-importing the virus from poor countries that can't afford the vaccine, which will become a permanent reservoir of the disease - unless you cripple the world economy by prohibiting international travel indefinitely.

So this is an example of enlightened self-interest. Trump, naturally, is far too stupid and egotistical to realise that. He probably thinks that by getting the US only immunised it gives some sort of competitive advantage. He's such a jerk.

I don't think COVAX is Trump-like enough to give the USA the finger while it distributes the vaccine to everyone else. But I might be wrong.

But prioritizing countries that also use less high tech methods of slowing the virus, over ones that don't, would make sense.

And the American people would suffer. I remember when Cuba offered to send a hundred or so doctors to some disaster relief situation, and they refused. I'm surprised they didn't block Canadian (because we're so socialist) firefighters from helping in California. maybe he didn't hear abut that, as such exchanging is almost old news.

As for a vaccine, I don't care if it comes from the Cookie Monster or North Korea, if it's proven to work, bring on the needle.

Naw. I'm disenchanted with both parties.

All Republicans and Democrats are just mirror images of each other. Both hypocritical and both are corrupt and arguably beyond repair.

Trump and Biden are symptoms of a far greater problem with the nation and the common people are helpless in addressing and changing any of it due to hyperstrong political entrenchment.
