Troubled species

War and hate
Shut the gate
Insults and lies
My how time flies

Politics
Makes me sick
Troubled souls
Full of holes

What is your latest addiction?
Can you make an accurate prediction?
What on earth is this really all about?
Surely it's not to scream and shout

I will not join another army
I'd have to be completely barmy
Love is really all you ever need

No big surprise

Our politicians
Need your permission
Sensitive souls
Are full of holes

What is your latest addiction?

Are you bored out-of-your-mind?
What new obsession can you find?
How many people are satisfied?
With all the feelngs deep inside

What is wrong with society?
So much pain and anxiety
Where did it go wrong for the human race?
Are there some truths we refuse to face?

Many people simply go through the motions
What they may need are some magic potions
People always ask me if I can save the world
I tell them to leave all the flags unfurled

I'm not really too fond of complaining
I guess I have some doubts remaining
I suppose things could always be worse
I have no idea how to end this verse
