Anyone who knows about this?? They are offering meat such as chicken as prasad and doing animal sacrifice and other stuff...

Please explain.

it is a ritual in which the godess or diety is allowed to possess the body of the performer, so that people and godess could interact eachother, people could seek blessings and provide offerings. Not every theyyam involves meat offerings, i should say that happens very rare. I dont know much about this custom, though i belong to the same community.

Personally i believe this ritual is not as per hinduism, and it is actually spirits of dead people(ghosts) which possess the performers body, and not the godess.
