What is the purpose of life, according to you?

Enlightening to the truth of existance. Ad samsara (Reincarnation)

I disagree. It is pretentious for a finite being that is a speck of dust in relation to existence itself to presume anything. We don't know what the universe wants. We have ideas but certainty of knowledge in that regard is not among them.

The purpose of life is to inculcate the attributes of G-d in one's self and to prepare for the Hereafter (life after death).

Say, ‘We will adopt the religion of Allah; and who is better than Allah in teaching religion, and Him alone do we worship.’

I cannot imagine a non-sentient universe wanting anything.

I agree.
Only G-d- the Creator of human life could fix the purpose of human life.

Then how are you sentient, unless you are something fundamentally different to ‘the universe’ ?
Atoms and molecules ...your body.
Quantum events...your body.
Abiogenesis and Evolution...your body.

What else could you be ?

The Universe is not a stage set for ‘us’ to live in. It is us, living.

It is G-d who set the purpose of the Universe and purpose of the Human life.

How can you be so sure of that, considering how limited our interaction is with the entirety of the universe?

To throw the idea away that we are concious beings stemming from a root, universal consciousness seems quick to react.

The empirical sciences are very limiting. In fact, that's the purpose. But to ignore possibilities means we lose out on progress.

Does one mean that a dumb/unconscious Universe cannot of itself develop/create a conscious/living/talking life, please?

And He pressed the sun and the moon into service: each pursues its course until an appointed term. He regulates it all. He clearly explains the Signs, that you may have a firm belief in the meeting with your Lord.

Our purpose in life is to love God. To obey God's Commandments is to love God. To disobey God is to hate God. God does not allow hatred in heaven. Without the option to choose not to love, which is hatred, their is no way to choose to love God, in heaven. Human gifts of love for God are produced on earth, and not in heaven. God will gather all those who love Him into eternal life, with Him. Those with only hatred and lack of love in their hearts will be cast into hell. Life on earth is where you produce your treasure of love for God which you will possess for all eternity.

Of course, the purpose of life is to become living, and live life. Now why not live life to the fullest?
