Messianic Israelite

Hi Altfish. haha. I don't think we're on different planets. Different countries, maybe. The golden rule was no doubt taught in the Garden of Eden.I think we are on a different planet, Messianic Israelite;
The Golden Rule was pre-Biblical and that is much better than the Commandments
How should a child react to 5. if your parents are abusing you; should you still honour them?
Ephesians 6:4 expounds on the Law when Paul says "And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but nurture them in the chastening and admonition of Yahweh."
We're to honour our parents, because they brought us up and it is indicative of the relationship we have with Yahweh. But, parents can sometimes abuse their position. In ancient Israel, some even learnt the abominable practice of burning their children to Molech, a foreign mighty one. This practice was so abhorrent to Yahweh. You can feel the anger of Yahweh in Leviticus 20 against the parents of anyone who engages in this abominable, heathen custom. He says "I also will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name".
Just like sacrificing a child to Molech, abusing a child would be greatly detested by Yahweh because it violates the commandment in the 10 commandments of misusing His Name by doing evil - doing something He wouldn't do.
