The books in your language.

I was just curious how the books are called in your language

For exmple, in the Netherlands the bible is called bijbel.
and the Quran is called Koran.

Both names are very simlar to the english word for it. Are there languages out there with complete other names?

Qur'an = Kur'an (KUR'AN-I KERiM)
Bible = Incil
Tavrah = Tevrat

We have the problem about normal and enlongated vowel. One of our books is spelled as Geeta or Gita. Then Veda, Ramayana, Mahabharata; the end 'a' is not to pronounced as 'a' in 'china' and some of the 'a's in the middle are to be pronounced as that. Rama and Krishna are without enlongated 'a's. Of course, when we take the full name of our books, people are foxed; SrimadBhagawadGeeta, SrimadBhagawad Purana. We have a total of 12 vowels while English has just 5.

When you're transiterating from a foreign alphabet or syllabary there's a lot of room for alternative Roman spellings.
