Some Vedic Love

In the spirit of Love, May Love and peace prevail, may truth always win, may we always look at each other with Love and friendship, May we respect our elders, May we get respect in return, may humanity prosper through Love of Knowledge, May knowledge guide us to Moksha, may i learn from you, May we learn from each other, lets have unity within this diversity let not our brothers and sisters fall, Love one and Love all.

And in the Spirit of Love: Let us recite the Veda (Knowledge) of Pyaar (Love).

The above was my thought, below is my inspiration.

Atharvaveda (Shaunakiya Samhita) III.30.1-7
The union of hearts and minds
and freedom from hate I'll bring you.
Love one another as the cow
loves the calf that she has borne. || 1 ||

Let son be loyal to father
and of one mind with his mother.
Let wife speak to husband words
that are honey sweet and gentle. || 2 ||

Let not brother hate a brother,
nor a sister hate a sister,
unanimous, united in aims,
speak you words with friendliness. || 3 ||

I will make the prayer for that concord among men at home
by which Devas do not separate, nor ever hate one another || 4 ||

Be not parted - growing old, taking thought,
thriving together, moving under a common yoke,
come speaking sweetly to one another;
I'll make you have one aim and be of one mind. || 5 ||

Common be your water-store, common your share of food;
I bind you together to a common yoke,
United, gather around the sacrificial fire
like spokes around the nave of a wheel. || 6 ||

With your common desire I'll make you all
have one aim, be of one mind, following one leader,
like Devas who preserve their immortality.
Morning and evening may there always be a loving heart in you. || 7 ||

OHM TATH SATH

Sumit

Sanatana Dharma
Common be your water-store, common your share of food;
I bind you together to a common yoke,
United, gather around the sacrificial fire
like spokes around the nave of a wheel. || 6 || || 3 ||

One of my favorite vedic verse. :D

Beautiful. :) I have seen some verses from the Vedas, just a few snippets. But if verses like this are what's meant by "the authority and validity of the Vedas", then there is no question about it. How anyone can think otherwise is beyond me.

To be honest i have never been inspired by any other literature but the Veda, I have read works of Swami Dayanand, Swami Vivekananda, Shri Aurobindo, The Bhagvad Gita, Isha Upanishad, I have read the translations of the Vedas by Wilson, Griffith and the Arya Samajis, None inspired me until i was able to use my own thinking to make my own meanings of the Veda using all of these other literature (and more not mentioned) as a guide only. I see in the Veda as poetry inspired by the intelligence which governs nature, to me these Mantra are deep poetry of people who were inspired by the Universe around them, same poetry inspires me.

There are a vary few things that can inspire people to right poetry, the most obvious is the Universe, the least obvious is the self.

Another Good quote regarding the Veda as a usage, and its importance.

He who knows not the eternal
syllable of the Veda,
the highest point upon which
all the Deva repose,
what business has he with the Veda?
Only those who know sit
here in peace and concord.
