Sigyn's Story

VoidCat

Pronouns: he/him/they/them
She married him at 15,

The trickster god, Loki.

None would would trust him,

For he was of chaos and change.

But she loved him,

Understood him more than the rest.

So she stayed loyal till the end.

One day many years into marriage,

Loki was up to his old tricks again.

The gods were mad and rightly so,

For he stole the Brisingamen,

From lovely Freya.

Oh Sigyn knew naught of this.

But Heimdall said:

Divorce him,

He’s not honorable.

You don’t have to hold an oath to one such as him.

And she said:

I will not cast off the man who has loved me.

He is the joy of my heart.

The father of my twin sons,Vali and Narvi,

Is loyal in his own way.

You don’t believe me,

But there is love and goodness in his heart,

I will stay with him until the end!

Oh her oath,

To keep until the final breath.

Well,you couldn’t have predicted

What would happen next.
Some say he insulted the gods with the truth

Others say Loki killed the god of light Baldur.

She watch as in punishment,

Vali was turned into a wolf,

To tear his brother apart.

Narvi is dead,

His intestines were used to tie Loki to a rock.

Then Skadi placed a serpent to drip on him,

Till Ragnarok.

Oh she could have ran,

She could have left.

But she took a bowl,

To collect the venom in.

So it doesn’t touch her husband.

But every once in a while,

The bowl is full,

She has to empty it to hear her husband scream,

As the poison drips from the fangs into his face.

Yet to this day she sits,

As she watches him go insane,

Loyal till the end.

Sigyn, ever merciful,

Ever loyal,

Always grieving,

Love has no bounds.
