Should the US push harder for a 2 state solution in Israel/Palestine?

'United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for the occupied Palestinian territory Lynn Hastings said in a statement that the recent Israeli demolition of Palestinian homes and evacuation of local residents and confiscation of their lands contravened international law, and were all in flagrant violation of human rights law.

The statement came a day after Hastings visited the community of Humsa al-Baqai'a, in the northern Jordan Valley, where the homes and belongings of families living there were either demolished or seized by Israel in an effort to drive them out of their lands.'

Source: UN calls on Israel to immediately stop demolishing Palestinian homes, buildings in West Bank

Personally I think the US has both the power and responsibility to push hard for a two state solution, and who knows, it might even de-escalate tensions with other rival nations in the middle east.

Since the US is taking a harder look at human rights and its Arab allies perhaps its a good time to do the same with Israel?

I think the US and the world should ignore Israel and Palestine. They clearly don't want a solution yet. We should wait until they ask for help and until then don't stroke their egos by making it a world problem.

I think that the displaced Palestinians are crying out for help at the UN.

They want help for their side just as the Israeli want help for their side from the US. They don't want help to find a peaceful solution.

It would make a lot more sense to talk about the Palestinians as a group if they were organized as such. Right now the Palestinians are an amalgam of conflicting factions and this makes arranging agreements impossible. Until the Palestinians can organize they can't become a state. This is outside of moral concerns, it is simply the nuts'n'bolts of how things work.
