Resident megalomaniac
Here's a poem I found scribbled on a piece of paper I write shopping lists on.
I honestly have no real memory of writing it but most of my poems feel like they are being dictated to me by the voices in my head!
Here it is -
Self portrait in water colours
I am a member of the human race
My mouth and nose appear on my face
I move around from place to place
There are many truths I can embrace
Kindness remains my constant aim
I do not seek glory or fame
To be obnoxious would be a shame
Modern life can seem quite tame
There is blood in every artery and vein
Delivering oxygen into my brain
I love to travel on a train
Some awkward questions still remain
I try my darndest to be good
I feel a bit like Robn Hood
My bones are harder than most wood
I rarely mention the word should
There is a lot I do not know
I marvel how our sun does glow
This world is a tale of joy and woe
I think everyone deserves a fair go
I love to walk under sunny skies
I rarely choose to criticise
I am always pleased by a surprise
I make sure I have enough supplies
I listen to the voices in my head
Where will they go when I am dead?
There are many books I have not read
I think it might be time for bed
Without meditation I'd be one big mess
This is something I must confess
I travel around in casual dress
There are many buttons I will not press
Sometimes I wonder if I'm mad
But it's really not all that bad
I feel compassion for all who are sad
I guess I have nothing more to add
Enjoy the rest of your day!
