Saudi Aramco IPO Offering Likely

Saudi Aramco state oil giant said today it is likely it will offer an IPO to investors in a need for cash. World's "largest oil producer" likely to open Aramco to stock investors but not include the sovereign oil reserves, "Saudi Arabia’s potential sale of shares in its state-owned oil giant wouldn’t include the kingdom’s oil reserves and could be on local or international markets" which may include opening a publicly listed company (stocks) valued in the trillions of dollars to US investors.

The Initial Public Offering "...could include at least part of the company’s exploration and production assets, countering speculation that any IPO would focus solely on its refining and petrochemical arms."

This is going to be HUGE news if an IPO is offered, even if it might not be screaming headlines it will be important news. This will obviously help cash-strapped Saudi and the flow of cash to the benefit of it's citizens and would be of interest to US investors. I may start putting some money aside in a money moarket or other bucket to get ready for a buy, which probably would be a buy into downstresm (refining), and then assess if a buy makes sense over the next months, but not sure if an IPO might be in the works just weeks away or months or what (?) since the time frame is not clear, it isn't even clear if it will happen at all but I strongly suspect it will and this is just the branch period by Saudi Arabia to establish what the IPO price per share will likely be.

This is going to be big news even if it isn't big news yet. The Saudis may want to be more clear to allow US investors to set aside funds ready to buy the IPO, the timing is important since investors may not want to sit on cash too long waiting to understand the circumstances.
