Due to my mobility problems as we've discussed (btw, at temple I bit the bullet and sit in a chair near the wall when necessary, and stand), I have always wanted to perform the Sūrya Namaskāra. Clearly, the poses are out of the question. About the only poses that would not have me going into spasms (literally) is the anāhata and vishuddha. Has anyone ever heard of or thought about just reciting the namaskārs? Or is there just no point?
