Reform or Revolution?

I find it curious that there is an apparent problem within the US yet the Government seems to spend more time attempting to influence other countries, either directly or indirectly, than listening to its own constituents. Could this be related to the lack of organization of the 'have nots'? Could a charismatic leader, (from among the have nots) with a genuine interest in change, have the potential to make changes similar to those of Martin Luther King? I am talking about a revolution, though not in the streets. A revolution in the political arenas of the various levels of governments.

...Orichalcum, we can barely get a majority to vote, much less drop their apathy and participate in a revolution. Although you might stand a chance by saying it was being filmed for a later Survivor episode...

You guys are making lots of good points here.

I'll just add 3:
1) The very poor pay no income tax, and the very rich are not affected. They can afford tax shelters and accountanta to 'shield' their wealth from taxes. So logically, who are income taxes designed to 'get'?

2) Corporations do not pay taxes. They collect taxes. If we raise corporate income taxes, either prices will go up or they will move more of their operations away from the clutches of the IRS.

3) As long as the majority of the American 'middle class' does not understand the first 2 points, there will not be a revolution. If enough people show interest to abolish the IRS, and implement the Fair Tax, then I'll reconsider this point.:jiggy:

I've been known to tune into the 'TalkMaster' on the flagship station from time to time.:p I don't think he would predict a 'revolution' either since he invoked the 'boiling frog' anology in reference to the way we are currently taxed.

Until recently, I would have agreed with that, but with the recent ruling of the supreme court ruling that endangers personal property rights may change the overall cultural climate.
