Why in Acts 7:59 does Stephen pray for jesus to receive his spirit? It's not going to get lost or something .And if it is just life force why worry about it?In 2 corinthians 5:10 paul says we must all appear in front of jesus as judge for things done while in the body.Is that what stephen was worried about?

Stephen was seeing a vision of Jesus with his Father and because he knew he was about to die, entrusted his "spirit" (breath or future life) to his Lord and Master.....the one who was assigned to resurrect the dead. (1 Thessalonians 4:16; John 5:28-29)

Since Stephen was a faithful servant of his God, and a disciple of Jesus Christ, he would have no issues with judgment. He was confirming his belief in the resurrection.
