Question about Punctuated Equilubrium

So this isn't as much of a question as it is a verification.

Please tell me if I have this wrong:

So punctuated equilibrium (rapid evolution) happens when the geographic landscape changes significantly so that a species who have branched off due to speciation evolve rapidly, and then stop evolving for a period of time.

Is this right?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not an evolutionist, and only took one class on this, but that sounds about right.

Even if the label is different, the idea is presented, so uhmmm.. 'yes'.

Now, this is abit sketchy, considering some incongruencies/human populations, but whatever, i'm sure some website or someone here can inform your faith further

I would always default to the concept that it's going to be limited almost more than unlimited, hence, tends to stop itself quickly. evidence, limited variation.

hmm but...
anyways, that's all I got, man
