Done here.
I'm an apostate from Orthodoxy.

No*s and James the Persian are both Orthodox, but neither is active here at present.

I used to be a member of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR), and was at one time studying to become a monastic. I still actively study Orthodoxy, but am not active in it. It's possible that I would be able to help answer questions though.

Did Orthodox Catholic break away from Roman Catholicism?

It might be helpful to point out that "Orthodox" and "Catholic" are terms used by two different branches of Christianity. Orthodox essentially means "right worship" or "correct worship," and catholic essentially means "universal." After the schism between the eastern and western patriarchs in 1054 the east typically used relied upon the term orthodox for self-identification, while the western church loyal to papal authority generally adopted the term catholic.

When talking about the "Orthodox Church" this forum focuses on we are specifically referencing the Eastern Orthodox faith, and we generally refer to Roman Catholics as "Catholics."
